MI pick Mahipal Lomror, Ruchit Ahir as replacement players

Mumbai Indians have roped in Mahipal Lomror and Ruchit Ahir as replacements for the injured duo of Quinton de Kock and Raj Angad Bawa. While De Kock suffered a tendon injury in his left wrist ahead of MI's match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bawa sustained a ligament tear to his right thumb during MI's fixture against Punjab Kings.

Lomror, a batting all-rounder from Rajasthan, walks in with some IPL experience. From the 2018 season to 2024, when he last played, Lomror featured in 40 matches for two teams - Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has scored 527 runs in the tournament, and picked a solitary wicket in the 15 overs he has bowled. He joins MI for INR 50 Lakh.

Ruchit Ahir meanwhile, hasn't played in the IPL before. The 25-year-old has featured in 16 List A and 12 T20 matches for Saurashtra. He has scored 333 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 169.03. He joins MI for INR 30 Lakh.

MI's replacements come in just a day before their final game of the season - against Rajasthan Royals at home. The five-time champions have endured a tough season, winning just 4 of their 13 games so far and confirmed to finish in the bottom two.
