Jayden seals big West Indies win with fifer

Jayden Seales bagged a fifer, and combined with the rest of the West Indies pacers to rip into Pakistan as the visitors fell well short of their chase of 211 in Trinidad. Before the bowlers could dig their heels into Pakistan's batters, West Indies' tail frustrated them by pushing their overnight lead of 155 to 210.

That came despite West Indies starting the fourth day at seven down as Pakistan were wayward with the ball. After flying with the bat for a little more than the first hour, their bowlers took over and rattled Pakistan early and never allowed them a way to come back.

Babar Azam cut a lonely figure through the day as his batting partners kept coming and going. Pakistan went into the chase with a little more than five sessions to bat. They lasted barely past two before succumbing to the defeat. There were early inroads that put them on thin ice even before Lunch break. In only the third over, Imam-ul-Haq fell to Kemar Roach, nicking one behind to Hope after he was undone by a bit of extra bounce. Seales began his fifer with a wicket off a nothing delivery, as opener Azan Awais drove away from his body and nicked behind a half-volley. Seales then trapped Salman Agha leg before for a six-ball duck. Pakistan went to Lunch at 28/3 in 10 overs.

West Indies needed just 30 more overs to wrap up the entire innings. Pakistan's veteran duo of Azam and Mohammad Rizwan batted for eight overs together, but that proved to be second longest and the second most successful partnership of an abysmally constructed chase. They added only 21 before Greaves cleaned up Rizwan in the sixth over of the session with a peach - a delivery angled in from wide of the crease that straightened from a length. Five of the six batters who came and went next, returned single-digit scores as Justin Greaves, Roach and Seales unleashed a ruthless three-pronged fast-bowling spell. The first sign of real fight from Pakistan came through the final wicket stand which lasted for 72 deliveries. Mohammad Abbas held fort one side for an extended period in the company of Azam who reached a half-century, which eventually proved to be the only consolation for him and his team.

After a 12-over vigil between the two, Seales trapped the No. 11 batter leg before to end his innings on 23 - the second best effort in a sorry scorecard, to bowl Pakistan out for 120.
