It was a great day for Zimbabwean cricket in Galle. When Sri Lanka made 316, not many gave them a chance at the innings break, but what transpired after a few hours was an inspiring, record-breaking run chase.

Here's how the Twitterati reacted to Zimbabwe's first ever win against Sri Lanka in any format in their own backyard.

This was the first time a score of over 300 was successfully chased down in Sri Lanka.

It was indeed an excellent run chase, but a few at work had a reason to be pleasantly disappointed. It could have been the first instance in ODIs where there was no six hit in a 300+ successful chase, but Sikander Raza decided to finish it off in style.

Former cricketers, home, away and neutral, heaped praised on Zimbabwe for their stupendous show.

Sri Lanka's fielding was once again under the scanner as they dropped catches and even fumbled a few.

Home sweet home, they say, but home hasn't been that sweet for Sri Lanka recently.
