Sophie Molineux | Australian skipper: [On Australia’s comfortable win and what it does for the camp] It was a good win. I thought the Netherlands played really well, especially Sterre, but we just couldn’t get a wicket. So full credit to them. They played really well, but really pleased that we could make a big score. And yeah, it was really enjoyable to be out here and play against them. [On having multiple bowling options available] I don’t see it as a problem. I think it’s just a little bit of, yeah, just trying to find the right fit at the right time. But yeah, we couldn’t get a breakthrough there for a long time. So I think, yeah, the beauty of having a lot of different options is you can sort of cycle through them and see what works.
Babette de Leede | Netherlands captain: (How inspired were you today for the Netherlands against Australia?) I think this is a massive moment for us as a team, and also for me personally. Together with Robine Rijke, we played our 100th T20I against the best team in the world at a World Cup. It doesn't get much better than this. (What does it mean for Dutch women's cricket, and for everyone watching you girls in orange today?) It's a massive opportunity for us. I think Australia is a quality team. Just to be able to play against them, learn from them, and see how they go about their innings is incredible. I think also to have our home supporters here is such a special opportunity, and they were very loud, which was great for us.
Beth Mooney | Player of the Match: [On retiring hurt and her back spasm] “Yeah, I’m all good. Just, probably, just not used to all the bus travel we’ve been doing that leads to Southampton trips, pretty long one. So I look forward to that again tomorrow. [On the value of her innings and Australia’s performance] I guess, you know, as an opening batter, it’s important to probably get jobs to score runs. So from my point of view, I just did my job pretty well today and had a couple of good partnerships there, first with Georgia Voll and then Ash Gardner. But I thought we were very comprehensive and the bowlers did a great job restricting them to 120.
13:44 Local Time, 12:44 GMT, 18:14 IST: The Netherlands might have lost the game but their fans are out there in full glory because this is a historic day for them - to play the No. 1 side for the first time in their women's cricket history. Both batters sport lovely smiles as they hug each other after being part of this momentous occasion. Playing against the best and picking up lessons was one of the major takeaways in this game for the Netherlands. The Aussies were obviously going to be strong for them. Sophie lost the toss and batted, but her girls put on a mega show with the bat to post 219. Netherlands were pretty poor with their ground fielding, fumbling many times and conceding extra runs and even dropping catches. They will be pretty impressed with how they responded with the bat though, after losing two early wickets. Captain de Leede and Kalis shared a 96-run stand to frustrate the Aussies, who would have hoped to get more wickets. But it's another massive boost that they have given themselves to the NRR with this win.
