PLAYER OF THE MATCH
That's the end of all the fun in the Big Bash today. Do join us tomorrow as the Bash rolls into Hobart for Match 28 of the season. For now, cheers and bye
Joel Davies | Player of the Match - It was a massive game for us. It just gets us ahead of the middle of the ladder, which is pretty congested. But I was surprised I didn't get washed. I deserved it this time. I thought that not many, but, yeah, I'll take it. I think I'm lucky enough to have worked with the GOAT, Sock, for a long time. And now that, I guess, Steve O’Keefe is away, which has been a big, big ask. But, yeah, I think he's getting a bit more opportunity since he's left. But t's just been awesome to be out there with the boys every game and just getting to follow and follow this. I think I might be out of the team to be honest (when the Australians top stars return). Not up to this, mate. I don't know. But, yeah, it's going to be a start to the line-up. So, yeah, there'll be some tough decisions to be made from the coach. But I think getting those boys back is going to be unreal. And I think it's possible to get a start at some point. That'd be nice, as well. I think batting is a bit more fun. I like it. I don't like getting into sixes, but I enjoy getting sixes. But it's pretty satisfying taking wickets. I'd definitely prefer batting.
22:17 Local Time, 11:17 GMT, 16:47 IST: Another impressive outing for the Sixers while the Stars slip to their 3rd consecutive loss of the season. After a fine start, the tournament is quickly threatening to unravel for them. 128 wasn't going to be enough on this pitch, it did have some spice, but Sixers knew their target and went on getting to it in a professional manner. Everyone who batted got a start, there were solid partnerships and they aced the chase with 17 balls left unused. The bowling was disciplined by the Stars, but with no scoreboard pressure, the Sixers could bide their time, got the ones and twos and the occasional boundary followed. Josh Phillipe's 35 was top-score while Lachlan Shaw impressed with his 14-ball 24*. The match though was set-up by the bowlers who used the two-paced nature superbly to restrict the home team to a below-par score.
