Lahore Qalandars vs Quetta Gladiators, 26th Match, Pakistan Super League 2026 - CommentaryLHQ vs QTG, 26th Match, Pakistan Super League 2026 - Commentary
That's all from this contest. Join us again tomorrow for more. Goodbye!
Saud Shakeel | Quetta Gladiators captain: Have been trying to put on a performance like this. It lifts the whole dressing room. Have been saying that we haven't been able to give the platform to the spinners from where they can attack. It's a different ball game when batters are trying to attack them. When that happens, wickets will come. Today they got that platform and showed that quality. Everyone is chipping in and contributing (with the bat). Rossouw coming back to form was good, and even the way Jacobs struck those two sixes at the end bodes well.
Shaheen Afridi | Lahore Qalandars captain: Definitely we are struggling (with the bat). We're still in the tournament but we're struggling. With the back to back games, there's an opportunity for batters to step up. Need to believe in ourselves (talking about his batters). One guy can't win it, the team has to perform. Need to win the last four matches. Bowlers also have the responsibility to bowl well in the middle overs.
Usman Tariq | POTM: No such pressure on me (after going wicketless in few matches). It's part of the game. I was having a good economy. People expect a lot that you have to take wickets and all that. I'm also trying to take wickets but unfortunately it doesn't happen sometimes. When you don't have a big total, opposition batters don't look to hit (during the run chase). This is the only thing I know. When your head is calm, your body was respond in proper way. Better to stay calm and I am the same way.
10.16pm local: Crucial win for the Gladiators as the qualification race heats up. They're back in fourth position for now. Meanwhile, the defending champions are struggling, having slipped to their third consecutive loss. Just didn't have enough runs on the board. Alzarri Joseph and Usman Tariq ran through their batting lineup, leaving them on 60/6. Hard to win matches from that position. Making things worse was the third-wicket partnership of Rossouw and Nawaz in the run-chase. Both of them batted really well, leading them to a comprehensive win.
