Prasidh Krishna | Player of the match: "I think the most important thing was the victory for us as a team. We've been working really hard, doing a lot of things right. We always look to play a good brand of cricket, and I think I'm just here taking the laurels of all the pressure that's created by our other bowlers on the other side. (on his preparation before a game) I would say it's a mixture of all. If you've played a lot of cricket, to understand, you know, you'll be able to react every single time something happens in the ground. But even otherwise, at practice is something, you sit together as a team. You have a lot of experience in our dressing room. So just make sure you get a piece of each one's brain and make use of that on the ground. (on his slower-balls into the wicket) Definitely a lot of practice. You need to bowl a lot of them in the nets and then feel good about it as a bowler before you can bring it onto the game. So, yeah, it does take a lot of hard work, a lot of time, a lot of effort in the nets. A tired body and one day you'll get the fruits of it. (body's feeling alright?) It was a little tiring in the afternoon for sure, but yeah, happy the win takes care of everything."

Shubman Gill | GT captain: "Yes, for sure. I mean, the way we bowled in the powerplay was very impressive. And I think how we kept the pressure in the middle overs was also tremendous by the bowlers. (on Rashid Khan) Makes my life very easy, you know. The way I think he's bowling at the moment, Rashid, getting us back in the game every time, another bowler is under pressure. So makes my life very easy. Gets the wicket, gets the dot balls, and it's very hard to hit him. (on Siraj) I think in the first six overs, it's all about, it's very difficult to do the simple things because you might sometimes get much ahead in the game. So it's important to come back and realize, what are the simple things that I need to do right now in the moment. And I think in this match, he did that really well. The first over that he bowled was spot-on. And then in the third over, how he kept his length and did the simple things and that got us back in the game, how Siraj bowled and even, I think, how KG, he went for a few runs. But I think he was spot-on with his length. He was a little bit unlucky. Few played-ons and a few good shots, but that happens in a T20 game. (on their chase) Yeah, it wasn't easy. In the last, I think, two or three overs, we went for a little bit more, especially in the back-end of the innings. I felt we gave like 10 runs extra how where we were in the game with them six or seven down. But definitely we would have taken at the start of the innings, we would have taken 160 on this wicket. (on his own form) Yeah, definitely very happy, back-to-back 50s for me and Jos, for both of us. So definitely looking in good touch."

Jos Buttler: (is he a numbers man?) "No. Someone just told me a couple of numbers. Yeah, it's been good, I have been around for a while. And yeah, nice to be back scoring runs. Obviously had a bit of a lean patch in the last few months. So nice to find some form and contribute to another win. (how did you turn it around?) Actually had a little bit of space from the game and time to just kind of think. And it sort of just came to me. I've just been focusing a lot in the weeks I've been here on my setup and my basics. I think a few technical issues maybe crept into my game, which actually allowed me not really seeing the ball that well. So it's a hard game if you're not picking up the ball well. So I've just been focusing on everything pre delivery and then backing that. As I said, I've played for 15 years. I'll know what to do when I get in. (on the chat with Hayden) He will be. He just asked, actually one of the first few sessions, how well are you watching the ball? It doesn't look like you're tracking it that well. So, you know, great players like him with the most simple advice, which is nice. And yeah, he's been great. I've really enjoyed spending time with him. Obviously, he's got a big presence and that aura. So when he speaks, you listen. (having family around) Yeah, it's great to have them here. Obviously, you know, the cricket is high intensity and it's busy. So it's nice to have them here and distractions away from the game and getting, you know, spend time with them."

Rishab Pant | LSG captain: "See, definitely not enough runs. There's nothing, you shy away from the fact that they bowled well. (was it a difficult wicket?) I think in a wicket like this, a score like 170 to 180 is a really good score. But, the wicket kept on falling and they put enough pressure for us to get those wicket going. (on losing at their homeground) See, definitely in a wicket like this, like I said, 170 to 180 is a good score. But at the same time, you know, you still have, there were opportunities. I wouldn't say I'm a hard guy. So there were opportunities in the game. We just couldn't grab it enough. (about the batting line-up) See, definitely it's a great lineup. But the tournament has just started here. We're not putting pressure on players because especially the senior guys, they know what to do. Yeah, there are times when you want to perform and you just couldn't. But at the same time, you know, the trust and belief in the camp is enough. And we know it's going to come soon enough. It's always positive."

They could've won it even quicker but Gill and Buttler got out, which delayed things. A target of 165 was never going to be enough especially if there's no early wickets. LSG got Sai Sudharsan for a low score but Gill and Buttler's stand of 84 ensured there were no alarms. Buttler was in a boundary-hitting spree and struck the ball so cleanly. Great signs for GT with both Buttler and Gill in good nick. This win though was due to their bowlers who ensured LSG got only 164. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff....
