17:02 Local Time, 11:32 GMT, 17:02 IST: A superb day with the bat after winning the toss. Ishan Kishan decided to bat first and then finished the day on 111*. Most of the batters got a start - Vaibhav Sooryavanshi cracked a quickfire 44, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Shikhar Mohan made attractive half-centuries before the 5th wicket pair of Kishan and Kushagra (63*) completely ground South Zone to dust. A placid surface and the bowlers were erratic - Siraj went for almost 7 RPO and the rest of the bowlers weren't any better. The over rate was appalling and 11 overs were lost for the day. East Zone will look to make this start count tomorrow, South Zone will hope for some wickets with the 2nd new ball. Join us at 9:30 am for day 2 of this season's Duleep Trophy Final.
