Moeen Ali (2/2): [The thinking behind bowling pacers in the powerplay?] I know they were off to a flyer, but the wicket, especially bowling from that end, was a little bit lower. There wasn't much grass from that end, and you always felt you get Gurbaz out. And I didn't want to bowl spin to Gurbaz in the power play because he does play spin really well. And if I had to, then I would have, but we luckily got him out, and we managed to get another wicket with Shai Hope, which is a massive wicket. And we just kept going, and I thought I knew I had spinners in the middle, didn't have to overdo it with spin on that wicket. [On their bowling attack?] It's a good attack. It's a very good attack, you know, but we're still learning. We've got guys who have struggled initially, but yeah, we've got a good attack. I don't want to say the best attack. Realistically, it'd be the best if we win it. But yeah, it's a very pleasing attack. You know, three, four seamers, two wrist spinners, finger spinners. It's nice.

Moeen Ali (1/2): [How would you rate this win amongst the previous five that you've enjoyed this season?] Yeah, I think our best one. I asked the guys, you know, I know we had qualified, but I really wanted that top two, and I wanted us to show everyone that Guyana can be beaten. They're a brilliant side, but to beat them here, they're formidable, and they're a brilliant side, very well balanced. So it's pleasing to come and win here. [On Jangoo's slow approach] I think actually generally he's done a good job because our side is not an explosive side. We can bat right at the end, and it just lays the foundation for us, and we've been lucky enough to come good. We would obviously like a few more runs. We don't want to be five down at the end of 20 overs. We want to be at least seven, eight down, having a good go. But we're playing really well at the back end in particular. But I think it's a tough place to bat sometimes, and it was a nice foundation still to come in. So it's pleasing, but we can get better.

Imran Tahir: [How would you describe that loss?] Yeah, look, I think our last death overs, two, three overs went for a few runs, which can happen to anyone really. You know, we've been a very consistent team, so it's good to have a taste of that. But yeah, we need to reflect and come back tomorrow strongly because we don't have much time. [You didn't use Pretorius. Was that a trial for Shepherd to get him into form at that phase?] No, it's not. He's one of our senior bowlers, and Pretorius, we feel that whatever the bowler at that time, I think Sheppy had more experience with his cutters and stuff like that. So that was our thinking. So I thought I'd rather give him the ball than Pretorius. Unfortunately, like I said, that happened. That could have gone any where, probably pick up two or three wickets. Shamar catch could have made them obviously 20-30 runs less. So, I mean, it was a bad night for us. But like I said, we need to come back strongly tomorrow. [What would you say to your batters after this type of chase performance?] Yeah, look, I think it was pretty simple. We had a great start, seven overs, 82, if I'm not wrong, and then I think we just have to bat around Nabi, whoever was there, and then just see till the 17th over, the same thing the opposition did, you know. So I think we need to just obviously reflect where we can improve, but I think this is the only thing I can see. Our top four, one of the batters needs to be there till 15th over, and I'm pretty sure, we've got a good thing going on, and this is one of those games, I think I don't have to blame no one.

Shadab Khan | Player of the Match: [On his mindset] You know, where I bat mostly is that type of situation where you go and try to maximise your innings, and I think sometimes it pays off, sometimes it's not, because I think that's the hardest part, because sometimes you look good, and sometimes when you don't perform, you look bad as well. But I think I was on a positive mind. I was trying to, like, okay, which I try to target the bowlers, and which bowler I can hit and where I wanted to hit it, so that's the plan. [How do you feel about the earlier entry point?] I think it depends on where the team needs me, and obviously I think they show me the platform and I'm trying to perform in that way. So wherever the team needs me, I try to give it 100%. [What worked well for you and your success tonight?] See, I think I'm not doing so much funky stuff, trying to bowl on a good area, because pitch was a little bit on the lower side and it's giving me help as well. So I think try to bowl on a good area, don't do funky stuff, and try to bowl as good ball as you can. [How does this win resonate with you?] I think these type of wins always boost you as a team, as a player, because Guyana is one of the best teams in the CPL, and you can see their record as well. So definitely beating this type of a team, it always give you a boost as a player, as a team. So I think now in the playoffs hopefully, how we get the momentum, stays there with us.

It’s the No. 2-ranked Falcons who end their winning run, beating the table toppers and taking their place at the summit. In a way, this could be a good thing for the Warriors.
