Keshara Nuwantha to Rahul, out Yashasvi Jaiswal Run Out!! Oh dear! Terrible mix-up out of nowhere. Actually, Yashasvi Jaiswal got obstructed by Keshara Nuwantha, who was diving to the right to stop the single. Jaiswal lost his footing and was on the floor. But KL had already taken off and reached halfway through because it was an easy single. The moment KL saw Jaiswal fall, he hit the brakes but Jaiswal got back on his feet and took a step forward to signal he was keen on the run again. KL took this confused signal from Jaiswal as yes for the run again. Suddenly Jaiswal then hit reverse and tried to get back into the crease and both batters ended up at the same end. KL of course grounded the bat first before Jaiswal so the latter is out. Prabath threw the ball to the keeper. Niroshan Dickwella collected the ball and didn't take the bails off immediately. He turned to his captain (DDS) who was at slip to check if he can take the bails off. DDS gestured, what's wrong in this? And Dickwella eventually disturbed the stumps. Even the umps had to check if DDS withheld the appeal and Sri Lanka did. This was a flighted delivery on the stumps, KL neatly drove it to mid-on. The bowler dived to stop the ball but couldn't and his collision with the non-striker caused all the confusion. Should DDS have withdrawn the appeal? Or was it one of those 50-50 ones? Replays confirm that KL had stopped even before the fielder touched the ball. He was ready to return to his crease and he had the time to get back home safely. It was because of Jaiswal's call again that he decided to proceed with the run that led to the runout. So can't blame Sri Lanka here for Spirit of Cricket.
