In a career that has lasted more than a decade, leading Northern Districts, the Hamilton-based team to victory during the 2011-12 season of Plunket Shield, has been the biggest achievement for Brad Wilson. In a career filled with potential, Wilson featured in New Zealand's Under-19 team during the 2004 edition of the tournament.

Wilson is one of the few players to have featured in more than 100 first-class games, mostly for Northern Districts, having made his debut way back in 2004-05, stroking a superb 96 on debut against Otago. Wilson shipped allegiance to Otago later on and was named as the state captain, before the start of the 2016-17 season.
