A genuine quick swing bowler, with the ability to wield the long handle lower down the order, Craig Alexander started off like many of the upcoming talents through the under-19 system, turning out for South Africa in the 2004 and the 2006 editions. 

He started off his domestic career with Western Province, but soon headed to the Lions. After a few middling seasons, he struck form in the Emerging players tour to Australia, where he shone in the one-day matches averaging a miserly 8.22 with nine wickets. He was also a part of the 2015 Africa Cup.
