Ryan Pringle graduated while playing his maiden season for Durham. He has a degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Sunderland University. Starting as an off-spinner, Pringle has focused more on his batting as his career has progressed.

The right-hand batsman has been in the Durham set-up since the age of 10. His debut first-class match came during the 2014-15 season against Somerset. Pringle had already played List A and T20 cricket, playing as an off-spinner, before making his maiden four-day appearance.

Pringle should have had his maiden county ton during the 2015 season, but was given out in a controversial manner on 99 - which remains his highest score. In a game versus Hampshire, Pringle was given out even though he felt the ball went off his helmet.

Being a specialist spinner in the side, Pringle did not do justice to that role in the next two seasons - claiming only 29 wickets. However, in 2016, Pringle recorded his first 10-wicket haul against Hampshire and ended the year with 19 scalps.
