Jay Lenton is a keeper' batsman who hails from New South Wales and made his first-class debut for them in the 2015-16 season. The retirement of Brad Haddin and Peter Nevill being selected for Australia paved the way for the young man to don the gloves for New South Wales.

His handy batting skills got him a contract with the Sydney Thunder team in the 2016-17 season but he failed miserably as he scored only 23 runs in 5 outings. He has been retained by the Thunders though.
