Neser to Mujeeb, out Caught by Jake Lehmann!! Loads up for another biggie and this time doesn't get the desired elevation and distance. Hits it straight into the bucket hands of Jake Lehmann at long-on. Mujeeb c Jake Lehmann b Neser 27(22) [4s-3]
19.1
4
Neser to Mujeeb, FOUR, full delivery and he gets his line wrong. Sprays it down leg and all Mujeeb needed to do was get some bat on that, he gets enough of it on the flashing flick and sends it racing down to the fine leg fence
19
6
Laughlin to Peirson, SIX, slower ball right in the zone for Peirson. He bends his back knee and swings mightily into the stands over mid-wicket. The biggest six of the night perhaps
18.5
4
Laughlin to Peirson, FOUR, stays back, takes on the short ball and swats it over mid-wicket. Clean as a whistle
17.4
4
Neser to Peirson, FOUR, overpitches and gets hammered over mid-off, no-one in the deep and that'll be four 10/10 times on any ground
15.4
Stanlake to Mujeeb, 2 runs, shuffles across off, goes for the scoop and nearly gets a maximum. Laughlin runs across to his right, plucks the ball mid-air and just as he loses balance, tosses the ball into the field before landing on the ropes
15.3
4
Stanlake to Mujeeb, FOUR, swagger! Mujeeb wants to have some fun with the bat. Goes deep inside the crease, loads up for a length ball and clubs the big Billy clean over mid-on
15.1
4
Stanlake to Mujeeb, FOUR, clears his front leg, leaves the stumps exposed and swats the length ball back over the bowler's head. No-one in the deep and it trickles away slowly

Rashid Khan to Swepson, out Lbw!! No turning down this time around. Gets stuck inside the crease and doesn't pick the wrong' un, plays outside the line and gets pinged in front of middle and leg on the hop. That's smashing leg stump. Swepson lbw b Rashid Khan 0(2)
14.3
W
Rashid Khan to Steketee, out Bowled!! Hello woodwork. Doesn't pick the googly, plays all around it and turns back to spot the disturbed furniture. Steketee b Rashid Khan 0(2)

W
Short to James Pattinson, out Stumped!! Too easy! Uses his feet and looks to flick this to leg, gets a thick inside edge onto pad and it rolls straight to the left of Carey who collects it clean before whipping the bails in a flash. James Pattinson st Carey b Short 4(7)

W
Rashid Khan to Cutting, out Caught by Weatherald!! Sweep against Rashid Khan and that too off the first ball of the over. Good luck! Cutting looks to play it behind square but gets a thick top-edge and it flies straight down the throat of deep backward square. 6 down are the Brisbane Heat. Cutting c Weatherald b Rashid Khan 8(10)
11
W
Laughlin to Heazlett, out Bowled!! Knocks the leg peg and leaps up in joy does Ben Laughlin. Heazlett was shuffling across his off stump and was looking tentative, Laughlin spotted all of it, bowled it full and snuck past the flicking blade. Heazlett b Laughlin 2(6)

Short to Bryant, out Caught by Rashid Khan!! No problems this time as the experienced Rashid settles under it. Heat losing their way here. Bryant once more runs down the wicket without knowing where to hit the ball, just tries to lift it into the off-side and squirts an outside edge, Rashid runs back from extra cover and hangs on. He took it over his left shoulder. Another set batsman throws it away. Bryant c Rashid Khan b Short 22(20) [4s-2]

Stanlake to Burns, out Caught by Weatherald!! The short ball does the trick. Weatherald makes no mistake this time. It would have been a wide had Burns let go, instead he chases after it down leg and cue-ends the pull to deep backward square, Weatherald runs in a few yards and takes a good low catch. Burns c Weatherald b Stanlake 20(14) [4s-1 6s-1]
8.2
6
Stanlake to Burns, SIX, dropped! Weatherald parries it over. Short and at the batsman, Burns goes for the pull and mistimes it badly towards deep backward square, Weatherald backtracks and the momentum keeps taking him over, he doesn't hang on to the ball either
5.4
4
Siddle to Burns, FOUR, cracking shot! Third Brisbane Heat batsmen to get off the mark with a boundary. Long half volley outside off, Burns strides forward and creams the drive through the crowded off-side field
5.2

Siddle to Chris Lynn, out Caught by Neser!! Siddle strikes! Huge wicket for Adelaide Strikers. Siddle deserved that wicket - has looked the best of the bowlers so far. Sees the batsman charge down and ensures he keeps it close to the batsman, Lynn goes through with the loft though he's cramped up, miscues it to long-on, where Neser settles under it. Chris Lynn c Neser b Siddle 33(20) [4s-4 6s-2]

6
Rashid Khan to Chris Lynn, SIX, fraction short and Lynn has picked the bones out of that, rocks back and hammers the pull over deep square leg. Costly start for Rashid
4.2
Rashid Khan to Chris Lynn, no run, run-out missed. Flattish and on off, Lynn turns it towards mid-wicket and Bryant is halfway down, Siddle is a bit slow to get to the ball and the throw is even wild. Bryant makes it back
4.1
4
Rashid Khan to Chris Lynn, FOUR, welcome, Rashid. First ball and Lynn brings out the broom, very full delivery and somehow manages to get under it, sweeps it just over the backward square fielder
3.3
Siddle to Bryant, 1 run, direct hit had Bryant in trouble. Bryant pushed it to mid-on and set off immediately, but he had to run around Siddle as he was backing up for the throw. The fielder has a shy at the bowler's end and misses. Even the dive from Bryant wouldn't have saved him
2.4
4
Stanlake to Chris Lynn, FOUR, excellent batting. Lynn showing his wide array of shots. Fraction short and around off, Lynn stays leg-side and back cuts it over short third man, used the pace of Stanlake to get it over the fielder
2.3
4
Stanlake to Chris Lynn, FOUR, Stanlake is trying to keep it close to Lynn, but for the moment is failing to do so. Bit of made up room and Lynn flat-bats it straight back over his partner. Didn't quite get it off the middle but the ball runs away on this fast outfield
2.2
6
Stanlake to Chris Lynn, SIX, massive! Into the second tier. That's his area - short and on off-stump, Lynn with his front leg cleared has a free swing of the bat, nice clean strike and the ball sails into the deep mid-wicket stands
2
4
Neser to Bryant, FOUR, boundary to end the over. Neser shakes his head as he collects his cap from the umpire. Full and outside off, Bryant drives and slices it off the outer half over the point region. Third man was inside the circle and hence the ball runs away to the fence
1.2
4
Neser to Bryant, FOUR, overpitched and young Bryant has his first boundary. That was a freebie and Bryant drives through the line, struck it along the ground past extra cover and mid-off. Enough legs to take it to the fence

4
Stanlake to Chris Lynn, FOUR, edged and four! Lynn like McCullum needs no sighters. Sees the short of length delivery and throws the kitchen sink at it, the thick top-edge flies over the slip cordon and into the third man fence

Stanlake to Brendon McCullum, out Caught by Carey!! And he's gone.. Needless. Races down the surface and Stanlake digs it in short, the tall lad extracts the extra bounce and McCullum slash finds the top-edge, skies up near the gully region, Carey calls for it, steadies under it and takes it calmly. Reckless shot from McCullum after hitting a boundary off the first ball. Brendon McCullum c Carey b Stanlake 4(2) [4s-1]

Stanlake to Brendon McCullum, FOUR, wow! Expect McCullum to get the tournament off to a flier and he does just that. Short, wide and plenty of room, McCullum has no second thoughts as he slaps it over the off-side field. Right off the meat and it is the first boundary of the season
