Wheal to Ben Geddes, out Caught by de Grandhomme!! Third catch for CdG. Surrey's innings has gone into a downward spiral. Geddes perishes trying to up the ante. Full delivery and this was in the slot, but Geddes does not get the elevation to clear mid-off and CdG pouches it right on the edge of the circle. Ben Geddes c de Grandhomme b Wheal 1(3)

C Wood to Rory Burns, out Bowled!! Cleaned up! Surrey have lost their way completely. From 122/2 they have gone to 136/6. Burns never looked the type to play big shots. He tries to manufacture something and perishes in the process. Walks a long way across, exposing his stumps, tries to play the scoop/sweep, misses and the ball crashes into the stumps. Rory Burns b C Wood 6(9)

Wheal to J Overton, out Caught by Tom Prest!! That's a fine catch from Prest. Overton thought it was a no-ball but the umpires didn't agree. A high full toss close to the waist, Overton swings and the top-edge skies backward of square leg, Prest runs in from the deep, kept his eyes on the ball and took it neatly. It is difficult to pick up the ball under grey skies but Prest had no problem with that, kept his eyes all along and pouched it safely. J Overton c Tom Prest b Wheal 2(3)

Scott Currie to Jamie Smith, out Caught by Wheal!! Oh no! Surrey have lost both set batsmen in a space of four balls. Smith was the man to bat through but he departs. Short and outside off, Smith tries to steer it down but the extra bounce does not allow him to do that, guides it straight to short third man and Wheal makes no mistake. Jamie Smith c Wheal b Scott Currie 59(41) [4s-6 6s-1]

W
Scott Currie to Ollie Pope, out Caught by Lewis McManus!! Brilliant catch by Lewis McManus. But very poor shot selection by Pope. He was playing the conventional shots so well but attempts a needless reverse lap, the back of a length delivery gets big on him and he ends up having a swat, the ball catches the glove and flies to the left of the keeper, McManus dives and grabs it with one hand. Ollie Pope c Lewis McManus b Scott Currie 23(16) [4s-2]

Mason Crane to Ollie Pope, FOUR, smart bit of batting. Pope brought the fielders in with his twos and then places a powerful sweep shot to catch the deep fielders unaware, he bisects them expertly and collects the boundary

D Arcy Short to Jamie Smith, 1 run, fifty for Smith. He has laid the platform and now needs to carry on and make it a big total. Flighted delivery on leg-stump, Smith sweeps backward of square leg
13.1

D Arcy Short to Jamie Smith, SIX, massive! Is it one over too many for Short? Smith dances down, gets to the pitch of the ball and smokes it with a lovely bat swing over long-off, the fielder could only watch it sail into the stands
12.1
4
Scott Currie to Ollie Pope, FOUR, nothing delivery from Currie. Short and sat up nicely, Pope pulls it backward of square leg and splits the two fielders - fine leg and deep square leg - perfectly

4
D Arcy Short to Jamie Smith, FOUR, ruins the over with a leg-side delivery, landed outside leg and invited the sweep from Smith, he placed it backward of square and gave CdG no chance to stop it in the deep

W
Mason Crane to Laurie Evans, out Caught by de Grandhomme!! Evans could not get going today. He tried to replicate Smith's inside out loft from the previous over but hits it a lot straighter. The ball that Smith struck for the boundary was outside off, this was on the stumps and hence Evans could not get it where he wanted, CdG takes a simple catch near long-off. Laurie Evans c de Grandhomme b Mason Crane 12(16)

4
Mason Crane to Jamie Smith, FOUR, floated up invitingly outside off and Smith accepts the invitation, he had the space to open his arms and he goes bang inside out over extra cover, couple of bounces and into the fence

4
de Grandhomme to Jamie Smith, FOUR, that ruins what was turning into a good over. Short and hint of width, Smith just guided it past the diving backward point fielder, used the pace on the ball and showed it direction
5.4
W
Scott Currie to Will Jacks, out Caught by de Grandhomme!! Much needed wicket for Hampshire. They had been under the pump after the first two overs. Jacks wanted to make the most of the powerplay and he kept going. This was not short enough to play the pull, the top-edge skies straight up, CdG runs in from mid-on and takes a good catch. Will Jacks c de Grandhomme b Scott Currie 28(21) [4s-4]
5.2
Scott Currie to Will Jacks, 1 run, stays leg-side and creates his own room, cracks it square on the off-side and gets only a single because of the sweeper, the duo shake hands as the 50-run stand comes up
4.4
4
C Wood to Will Jacks, FOUR, not where he intended but Jacks will pick up a boundary. He moves away to the leg-side and has a wild swing towards cow corner, the top-edge flies over short third man and runs away to the rope
4.3
4
C Wood to Will Jacks, FOUR, rubbish delivery and duly put away. Attempted slower ball that is slipped down leg, Jacks crouches a bit and swings hard, the ball takes the inner half and runs away to the fine leg fence
4.1
4
C Wood to Will Jacks, FOUR, sloppy. One runs turns into three bonus runs. Back of a length outside off, Jacks stands tall and punches it square past point, Wheal gets around from sweeper and allows the ball to escape past him
3.1
4
Wheal to Will Jacks, FOUR, boundaries coming thick and fast. The pair are making up for the first two overs. Wheal starts with a delivery angled down leg, Jacks whips it over backward square leg and gives the fielder in the deep no chance to catch up
3
4
de Grandhomme to Jamie Smith, FOUR, hat-trick of fours for Smith. He makes room to open up the off-side field and de Grandhomme delivers a full ball around off, crunched past the diving cover-point fielder and races to the fence
2.5
4
de Grandhomme to Jamie Smith, FOUR, back to back boundaries. Poor from de Grandhomme, strays down leg and Smith helps it along the way, just a faint little touch and the ball races past short fine leg-
2.4
4
de Grandhomme to Jamie Smith, FOUR, first boundary of the innings. This was right in the slot and Smith just extends his arms, pumps it over mid-on and though the ball plugged in the outfield, it had enough power behind to go over the rope
