Ashen Bandara to Pradeep, out Stumped!! That's it. It's a paltry 69 that Dambulla have managed. Ashen Bandara comes on for the first time and tosses it up to invite the big hit, the batter obliges but little did he know that Ashen Bandara had lovely revs on the ball for it to rip past his slog. Well done to Tharanga for staying low despite being blinded by the batter to effect a clean whip of the sticks. Pradeep st Tharanga b Ashen Bandara 4(12)

Shoaib Malik to Tahir, out Lbw!! Interesting to see that ball was hitting a good part of top of middle despite striking Tahir above the kneeroll and the leg being around crease distance from the sticks. Tahir got his foot across the line and missed the flick to this slow turner, bounced a bit too. Was a loud appeal from Malik and the ump raised the finger. Ball-tracker says ump was spot on. Tahir lbw b Shoaib Malik 8(8) [4s-2]

C de Silva to Tahir, FOUR, edged but it flies away. denies a deserved five wicket haul for de Silva. He pushed Tahir back with a shortish delivery that spun away, but Tahir was troubled on the shot by the extra bounce. Luckily for Dambulla it flew well over slip

C de Silva to Tahir, FOUR, this time he does cut late, was the slider that was read nicely by Tahir. Waited on the back foot to send it fine of backward point

C de Silva to Tharindu Ratnayake, out Stumped!! Okay, thank you for coming kind of easy stumping for Tharanga. Clever from De Silva to drop it short after seeing Ratnayake advance, dragged it wide of the batter too. Ratnayake yet tried to fetch the slog without being to the pitch of the ball and missed it completely. Bounced so nicely to the keeper for an easy ignition of the sticks. Shoaib Malik to Tharindu Ratnayake, FOUR, walks across for the conventional sweep and this time he gets an under edge, Living charmed life there. Being rewarded for his bravery. Had he missed, would have been out plumb LBW. Fine leg was in and he had no chance

Shoaib Malik to Tharindu Ratnayake, FOUR, top edge on the reverse sweep, it's flying fine over slip, man at third man tries to hunt it down with a desperate dive but loses the race. Fifty up for Dambulla

Hasaranga to Tharindu Ratnayake, FOUR, this time he connects with the slog sweep, no mid-wicket, it's a good connection and tease for the man in the deep. Beas the dive to the left at the boundary

C de Silva to Karunaratne, out Caught by Avishka Fernando!! That's a sharp catch at cover and Giants continue to crumble - that's number seven now - dropped short and wide of off, was there to be smashed and Karunaratne duly obliged - backed away on the thumping cut, but didn't bother to keep it down. Was travelling and at head high, but Avisha watches it closely, closes his palms around the reverse-cupped catch and held on. Karunaratne c Avishka Fernando b C de Silva 0(3)

Hasaranga to Philip Salt, out Bowled!! It's going all awry for the Giants - Salt was looking good, but he has played all around another skidder - crashes into the off-pole and off he goes. Pushed through by Hasaranga and it went straight on - Salt was shuffling across and then tried to play the ball square on the on-side, would have served him better had he played with a straight bat - missed it completely and turns back to watch his off-stump rolling on the ground. Can Giants bat out 20 overs? Philip Salt b Hasaranga 23(22) [4s-1]

C de Silva to Ramesh Mendis, out Lbw!! Ramesh Mendis has been given out LBW and he wants a review. was quite a long way forward as he played all around and missed a straight ball - it's a fair delivery, no bat on that and UltraEdge confirms it. Is it straightening enough? Or is going with the angle - ball-tracking in: it's umpire's call on hitting, clipping the off-stump and Giants have lost five now. Second wicket for Chaturanga - slowed down the pace and drifted back into the right-hander, Mendis was beaten in the flight as he strode forward - the impact was in front of middle and although it didn't straighten, it was clipping the outside of leg-stump, good enough for the original call to stay. Ramesh Mendis lbw b C de Silva 7(7) [4s-1]

C de Silva to Ramesh Mendis, FOUR, cracking shot, too short form Chaturanga - Mendis makes room and then beats backward point with the cut, runs away for a much needed boundary

C de Silva to Shanaka, out Bowled!! That's gone straight through and the Giants are in real trouble now - dropped flatter and kept skidding on with the angle - Shanaka was backing away on the cut, played for the non-existent turn as he looked to cut, gets beaten completely and the ball rattles the top of middle - the zing bails light up and off he goes. Shanaka b C de Silva 6(8) [4s-1]

M Theekshana to Shanaka, FOUR, top-edge and four - a safe shot although Shanaka didn't get it off the middle of the bat - gets a good stride forward and then sweeps with the turn - clears backward square leg and almost went all the way, bounced right in front of the ropes

4
Hasaranga to Philip Salt, FOUR, lovely shot, fraction short on this leg-break - Salt stays besides the line and then whips it in front of square on the on-side, wide of mid-wicket and the ball runs away to the ropes

M Theekshana to Nuwanidu Fernando, out Caught by Shoaib Malik!! A gentle chip and Fernando has holed out to long-on - came running down the pitch, is beaten in the flight but still went ahead with the lofted drive - skewed off the inner half of the bat and it lobbed all the way to Shoaib Malik at long-on - as easy as it gets and the Giants have lost their third wicket. Nuwanidu Fernando c Shoaib Malik b M Theekshana 2(7)

Hasaranga to Nuwanidu Fernando, no run, appeal for LBW, but that's sliding past leg - flatter and on the pads, Fernando shuffled across and then missed the flick, struck in front of leg-stump and would have been going down. But the Kings have reviewed and then they lose it.

M Theekshana to Maqsood, out Caught&Bowled!! Two in two for Theekshana - this is a superb return catch - was tossed up and spun back into the right-hander, Maqsood was looking to work it to the on-side, closed the bat-face and the leading edge lobbed to the left of the bowler - Theekshana moved across and then threw himself on the dive, gets both hands and pouches with ease. Becoming a terrific start to the game from the Kings. Maqsood c and b M Theekshana 0(1)

M Theekshana to Dickwella, out Caught by Usman Shinwari!! Top-edge and caught! A silly shot from Dickwella - was pre-meditating the reverse sweep, played with the turn, but couldn't get on top of the bounce. A big top edge and it lobs a dolly to Shinwari at short third man. Dambula have lost an early wicket. Dickwella c Usman Shinwari b M Theekshana 1(2)
