Sai Sudharsan's 168 and half-centuries from Dhruv Jurel and Saransh Jain stretched India A's lead to a commanding 175 runs on rain-affected Day 2 of the second unofficial Test against hosts Sri Lanka A in Galle. India resumed from the overnight score of 247/1 and added 294 runs through the day with the lower order chipping in valuable contributions to put India in the driver's seat.

Devdutt Padikkal needed six to reach his century but fell on the overnight score of 94 after India A had added just one run to their tally. Sudharsan, unbeaten on 104, stitched two crucial partnerships that took India A into lead. He added 42 runs with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who then retired hurt on 13. With Jurel, the opener added 78 runs for the fourth-wicket stand before departing for 168 just after India walked into lead.

Jurel fell soon after his half-century too, but the lower order continued to collect runs. Shaik Rasheed made a brisk 45 off just 51, with Saransh for company in a 54-run stand. He missed out on a fifty but Saransh continued alongside Auqib Nabi to add another patient 81-run stand for the seventh wicket. India lost a flurry of wickets close to end of day's play to finish on 541/8. Keshara Nuwantha (4-158) and Dilum Sudeera (3-101) shared seven of the eight wickets that fell between them but couldn't prevent the visitors from grabbing a hefty lead.

Brief score: India A 541/8 (Sai Sudharsan 168, Devdutt Padikkal 94, Saransh Jain 68*, Dhruv Jurel 54; Keshara Nuwantha 4-158, Dilum Sudeera 3-101) lead Sri Lanka A 366, by 175 runs
