PLAYER OF THE MATCH
So, that's it from our side. Tomorrow, a double-header is coming your way so join us nice and early. Until next time, goodbye and cheers!
Shaheen Afridi: Farooq batted brilliantly in his second game and Fakhar was also terrific, so credit goes to them. We will try our best going ahead in the tournament and aim to keep the momentum up.
Mohammad Rizwan: If you see today's match, the pitch was good. Saad recently made his Pakistan debut and he played brilliantly. Yasir also batted really well. I will give credit to my owners that they keep motivating us. They would be disappointed from within but they keep telling us that this is our first season and we will improve.
Fakhar Zaman | Player of the Match: If the top-order scores runs, a team has more chances of winning. The way Farooq started my job was to support him. It was great to see him the way he played on his debut. When he played five dots, I told him that no one will give you loose balls at this level, you have to convert them into boundary opportunities. But we knew that he is really talented and that he will come good. Our team has got wake-up calls, we will hopefully learn from those experiences and keep getting better.
22:43 Local Time, 17:43 GMT, 23:13 IST: It has been a clinical show with both bat and ball from Lahore Qalandars. They are back on track after three consecutive losses. Their openers, Farooq and Fakhar, set the game up for them with belligerent knocks. 210 on the board was a mammoth total and chasing it was always going to be an uphill task for a batting lineup that has been struggling. In response, the Pindiz were rocked early as they lost both their openers as Shaheen Afridi struck twice in a space of three balls in the powerplay. Yasir Khan though sizzled with some terrific strokeplay as he kept scoring runs briskly and struck a fifty but he didn't find support at the other end. The Pindiz kept losing wickets at regular intervals and that pegged them back. Saad Masood down the order also played brilliantly and raised a fifty but that was never going to be enough as the rest of their batters crumbled under pressure. Only three batters scoring in double-digits tells you the story. The Pindiz are now officially out of the tournament with a seventh straight loss on the trot. Stick around for the presentations...
