So, that's it from our side! Multan Sultan move to the second position with this win and bolster their chances of a top-two finish. Karachi Kings, on the other hand, slip to their fourth consecutive loss and their door to qualify for the playoffs is almost getting shut. There's another PSL game coming up between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators so hop tabs and catch all the live action. Until next time, goodbye and cheers!
Ashton Turner | Multan Sultans captain: (On the ebbs and flows in the game) Yeah, no doubt we had some great contributions across the board and to fall on the right side of the result in what was a close game was really a nice feeling but that being said, I think the reflections will be that there's still a lot of room for growth for our side. We think that we were treading in the right direction and we have done some things really well but there are still a lot of parts of our game that we can sharpen up and work on. (On Arafat and Siddle's brilliant bowling today) Yeah exactly and again with our bowling, we have had some solid contributions in the early part of this competition but probably still searching for that game as a bowling and fielding unit that we uphold the standards that we expect of ourselves but again we are moving in the right direction and we are still winning games without being able to nail it so that is a really satisfying and encouraging feeling for us.
Moeen Ali | Karachi Kings captain: (On whether they gave away far too many runs probably in that last bit?) Yeah and probably in the powerplay, I thought they had 70 off the powerplay and that's where wicket was difficult. We dragged it back nicely through the middle and obviously last couple of overs was quite expensive which can happen, they did play well and probably we didn't bowl to our plans. (On Abbas Afridi keeping the game on at the backend) He is a brilliant hitter of the ball and he can win you games from anywhere but we are always a bit behind, probably 10-15 runs. Reeza played amazingly well but difficult to chase such a score on that wicket.
Arafat Minhas | Player of the Match (Translated from Urdu): (On his plans while bowling for the first time in the powerplay today) I think the plans were very simple. I had a conversation with my captain and he gave me confidence. I was relying on my plans. I saw how the spinners bowled in the first innings so I was trying to keep the ball within the stumps and give as less bad balls as possible. We were getting help (from the surface), I stuck to my plans and that helped me to get wickets. This is a good platform and our team environment is really good because of which we are able to express ourselves really well. Our coaching staff and our captain back us a lot and that is really important for any youngster so I think that helps us.
18:12 Local Time, 13:12 GMT, 18:42 IST: Chasing 208 was always going to be a tough ask and the Kings fail to get over the mark. They tried their best but it was too much for them eventually. Jason Roy was looking dangerous at the top but Minhas got the better of him to cut his cameo short. The hosts lost three wickets inside the powerplay and that pushed them on the back foot. Hendricks and Moeen got together to steady the ship. The former in particular kept finding the boundaries regularly. But both of them departed in quick succession and that once again halted their momentum. Abbas Afridi and Hasan Ali played breezy cameos down the order to once again infuse life into the game but once Afridi fell, the tailenders crumbled under pressure. Siddle bowled a brilliant penultimate over that shut the game down. Arafat Minhas and Siddle were the pick of the bowlers for the Sultans. Stick around for the presentations...
