Zimbabwe continue to flourish against Bangladesh - they showed their prowess in the one-off Test and then have carried on with their good form in the white-ball formats as well. They reached the Super Eight stage for the first time in their history in the 2026 T20 World Cup. Once again the strong performances reiterate the fact that they are a team on the rise. Raza (2/2): (On the importance of taking a 1-0 lead in the series) Very happy. Very important. But most importantly, it's the way we have gone about our business. I mean, you would know - in Bulawayo, you don't get many opportunities to take 10 wickets in T20 games. And to get them all out is certainly a step in the right direction, and that's what excites me the most. (On the buzz in the dressing room) The buzz is good. When the T20s started, we had a map again that, as much as we have come back from the World Cup - wherever we ended, top seven or whatever - how do we get better? How do we keep pushing ourselves? And how do we actually become a top-five or top-four team in the world? There are a few things that we have identified. But to see two out of the three departments do well against the targets that we have set, that's what excites me. And that's what I'm really pleased and happy about.

Sikandar Raza (1/1): (On what stood out for them today?) I thought this was a 150-odd, 155-par wicket. So for us to go above par, I think that's one positive with the batting. Fielding, we were 8 out of 10. I think we were as good as we can be, bar one or two little errors. But I thought when it comes to bowling, we were really spot on. A bad over here and there can happen, but generally, or mostly, I think we were very good. So I think there's a lot of positives in all three departments. But I was just saying to the head coach as well that as much as it was 7.5 or 8 out of 10, the beauty of this - and what excites me more - is that we can still be better. And that is something I'm looking forward to for the next game. (On Brian Bennett getting back amongst the runs) Yeah, certainly. Brian has carried the opening stand for a very long time, and he continues to do so. Conditions in Harare in winter, especially when you lose the toss - and no better man to know than yourself, who was an opener as well - that it's tough. But it's nice that Brian is still in a very positive frame of mind. He was very confident going into this T20 series, even though there weren't many runs behind him. But we weren't worried. We gave him all the confidence that he needed, and to see him shine today certainly makes us happy. (On Ngarava and Muzarabani) They have been clinical for a very long time. One thing I said was that when we came back from the World Cup, as much as we had done well, I think it was a real eye-opener as well as to where we need to get better. To see our three fast bowlers actually lifting their standards to meet the standards of the rest of the world, suddenly, as a captain, I'm very proud of them.

Richard Ngarava | Player of the Match: I don't know what to say, to be honest, but I'm quite happy that the team came out with a win there. That's pretty much. I was feeling quite nice there. Everyone was prepared to take onto the field and actually get to defend that total, which was quite nice to have everyone contributing there. (On the surface) Well, it was quite slow off the deck, but of course, I mean, as a cricketer, you always adjust to whatever conditions you get. And I'm quite happy that I managed to adjust there, and everyone else managed to adjust to the conditions. (What was the chat at the halfway stage?) We didn't chat about anything, to be honest. But, of course, it's always kept in between the coach and the captain there to work around the combinations or wherever we need to work on, which was quite nice that everyone got in there and chipped in and made sure we got a defendable total there. (On Blessing Muzarabani) I mean, Blessing is a champion bowler, so there's nothing more I can say.

Towhid Hridoy: (On his decision to bowl first) Look, we wanted to take advantage of the early morning conditions. Our bowlers bowled really well. From some point of view, we need to work on a few things. (On the conditions in Bulawayo as compared to Harare) It's better condition here. We get a sporting wicket, very good to bat on. (On their game plan) We were in a very good shape. We just wanted to take advantage of these conditions. But again, as a batting unit, we didn't bat well. (On Nahid Rana's 4-fer) Yeah, he's a very good bowler. We know that. We know his ability very well. For the last couple of series, he's been bowling really well. So hopefully, he will continue. (Where did they falter in the run-chase?) Look, chasing 171, from the top we need partnerships - at least one or two big partnerships. But we missed that. So if we face the same kind of situation again, we will try to build those partnerships.

Yasir Ali kept going strong and found the boundaries consistently but he didn't get enough support from the other end. He raised a fifty. The asking rate was creeping up and he perished in a bid to up the ante. That was a fatal blow and that swept away Bangladesh's hopes. Ngarava and Muzarabani bowled superbly in the death overs as well and nipped out the lower order in a jiffy. Both of them finished with 4-fers to close the game out clinically. 16:02 Local Time, 14:02 GMT, 19:32 IST: Zimbabwe were especially brilliant with the ball and sharp in the field and have reaped the rewards. Provided the strong start they got majorly through Bennett, they were on course for a score around the 190-run mark but Bangladesh pulled things back really well to restrict the hosts. In hindsight, Evans hitting four boundaries in the final over of the innings against Rana gave Zimbabwe the momentum they needed heading into the break. In response, Bangladesh's top-order was dismantled cheaply courtesy a sharp new-ball spell from the duo of Ngarava and Muzarabani. They were pushed on the back foot but a promising partnership between Hridoy and Yasir Ali kept them in the game. Hridoy though couldn't convert his start into something substantial as he holed out in the deep.
