de Bruyn to C Tremlett, out Caught by (sub)Lloyd Norris Jones!! Excellent catch! The substitute Jones at deep mid-wicket had to be really aware to pouch this, and he does a great job. Was an aerial pull from Tremlett, didn't get hold of it completely and it nearly went all the way. Jones near the ropes judges the catch beautifully, lobs it up for a while as he feels he might touch the ropes and then pouches it inches before the hoardings. The umps have a check upstairs and it's just about alright. Lovely catch and it sums up SA's fielding performance. C Tremlett c (sub)Lloyd Norris Jones b de Bruyn 23(15) [4s-1 6s-2]

W
Ntini to RJ Sidebottom, out Caught by Jonty Rhodes!! Two in two for Ntini! Slower ball into the surface and Sidebottom is miles early into the shot. Gets surprised by the extra bounce too, and chips this straight to backward point. Jonty ain't dropping those even in his sleep. RJ Sidebottom c Jonty Rhodes b Ntini 0(1)

W
Ntini to Tredwell, out Bowled!! Chopped on! Shortish and wider outside off, Tredwell reaches out for the cut stroke and ends up getting an inside edge that cannons onto the off stump. This dismissal should further prove that the surface today isn't exactly a flat deck. It is on the slower side and that's expected, given the number of games that it's already had. Tredwell b Ntini 2(7)

6
Tshabalala to C Tremlett, SIX, kabooooooooooom! Tremlett is going to pummel anything that's in his arc, Tshabalala feeds one right in the slot and this disappears over long-off. Gee, those forearms!! WWE-style and he is maximising that power
16.1
6
Tshabalala to C Tremlett, SIX, smoked into the crowd! Juicy half-tracker, rare bad ball from Tshabalala and Tremlett hangs back to smash the pull over cow corner. He's got raw power and once he connects, it's going to clear the ropes for sure
15.2
Telemachus to Tredwell, 1 run, angling in from outside off, Tredwell's drive ends up at fine leg off a big inside edge
14.4
4
A Petersen to C Tremlett, FOUR, Tremlett's brute force on display, makes room and blasts the drive wide of extra cover. No chance for long-off
14.2
W
A Petersen to Kabir Ali, out Caught by Tshabalala!! Another one bites the dust. Tshabalala can do no wrong tonight. As if his spell with the ball wasn't superb, he now takes a very sharp catch near the fence. Ali premeditated the charge, couldn't get to the pitch but still went through with the loft. The result is a mishit towards long-on where the catch is taken. SA have been superb in the field. Kabir Ali c Tshabalala b A Petersen 9(11) [4s-1]
13.5
W
de Bruyn to Maddy, out Caught by Puttick!! One shot too many and Maddy falls! Tries to repeat the slog sweep but on this occasion, has to fetch it from a wider line outside off. Skies it towards deep mid-wicket where Puttick takes a sharp catch. Just when England were gaining momentum, they lose a key wicket. Maddy had to bat through for them to get a decent total. Maddy c Puttick b de Bruyn 25(23) [4s-3]

4
de Bruyn to Maddy, FOUR, streaky this time but they all count. Maddy made a hint of room for the inside out loft, ended up getting an edge but it's wide of van Wyk. No slip in place, as you'd expect, and it goes away very fine to the third man fence
13.3
4
de Bruyn to Maddy, FOUR, first real shot of aggression from Maddy! Knows that there isn't much pace on offer and treats de Bruyn like a spinner, brings out the slog sweep and muscles this over mid-wicket. Clean strike, made a cracking sound off the blade
11.3
4
de Bruyn to Kabir Ali, FOUR, beautiful stroke! Overpitched and Ali drove this with impeccable timing. Struck it so well that despite deflecting off Bruyn's foot, the mid-off fielder couldn't stop it. A boundary for so long for England
10.5
W
Tshabalala to Schofield, out Bowled!! Cleaned up this time! Tshabalala takes fielders out of the equation this time and he is pumped. Slider just around off, Schofield is expecting the off break and offers no shot. Finds to his horror that the furniture has been disturbed. Lovely bowling from the offie. He's having a great evening. Schofield b Tshabalala 12(18)
10.4
Tshabalala to Maddy, 1 run, dropped! Tshabalala isn't impressed, should have been his third of the night. Forced Maddy into a slog sweep with this loopy off break but the timing isn't there. Regulation for long-on who shells it
10.3
4
Tshabalala to Maddy, byes, FOUR, this has beaten everyone! The non-turner around off, Maddy plays for the spin and is beaten on the outside edge. Keeps low and sneaks past van Wyk as well, away to the fence
9
Tshabalala to Maddy, 2 runs, tossed up on middle and leg, Maddy steps out and eases this away down the ground. Hit very straight as long-on gets across. Good running and they get a brace
6.4
W
Tshabalala to Troughton, out Caught by van Wyk!! Double strike from Tshabalala! He is on a roll here! Flatter and very full outside off, Troughton looks to drive and seems to have gotten a tiny under-edge that's sharply taken by van Wyk. The ump is convinced and raises his finger rather quickly. England are in tatters here. Troughton c van Wyk b Tshabalala 0(3)
6.1
W
Tshabalala to Pietersen, out Lbw!! Tshabalala strikes a huge blow first ball! Having lost two early wickets already, this is the last thing England wanted. Their in-form player, their captain, is back in the hut. Credit to Tshabalala though, classical off-spin bowling on show. Loops this nicely around off, lovely drift and lures Pietersen into a swipe across the line. A bit of turn and probably too full for the stroke. Pinged on the back pad and that looked dead in real time. Pietersen lbw b Tshabalala 21(12) [4s-5]
5.3
Zondeki to Maddy, 1 run, dropped! At his prime, Rhodes would have swallowed this. Dived full length to his left, mid-air as he gets two hands on it but can't latch on. He'll be disappointed, sets high standards for himself even at this age. Was slashed away aerially by Maddy, couldn't time it properly due to the slowness of the delivery. Gets away
4.5
4
Telemachus to Maddy, FOUR, a grunt from Telemachus as soon as he bowled this, he knows this was a freebie for the new batsman. Short and too wide, Maddy slap-cuts it through point. Fiercely through the gap
4.4
W
Telemachus to Afzaal, out Caught&Bowled!! That's a soft dismissal for Afzaal! The hard length and it probably came quicker than he expected it to, also bounced extra off the deck. The attempted pull stroke is totally off in terms of timing and he pops a cue-ender back to Telemachus who takes a dolly in his followthrough. This has been a top over. Afzaal c and b Telemachus 10(16) [4s-2]
3.4
4
Garnett Kruger to Afzaal, FOUR, this is the age catching up with Kruger, loses his radar and fires a widish full toss, Afzaal accepts with glee and flays it hard behind point. No chance for third man on this outfield
2.5
4
Ntini to Pietersen, FOUR, delicious! Oh my! Ntini overcooks this one, off stump line and KP leans into a classy straight drive. Beautiful positioning of the bat face and elegantly eases it past the bowler, all the way to the fence
1.3
4
Garnett Kruger to Afzaal, FOUR, short and wide, gift for Afzaal who spanks this on the up. Hit it hard through the gap at point. Aerial for sure but he had his gap sorted
1.1
W
Garnett Kruger to Mustard, out Caught by van Wyk!! Nicked and gone! Short of a length outside off, Mustard chases the width with a cut stroke but no footwork on the shot. Gets a feather through to van Wyk. Mustard c van Wyk b Garnett Kruger 0(2)

4
Ntini to Pietersen, FOUR, huge reprieve for Pietersen! Tried to work across the line but ended up getting a big leading edge. In the air but also wide of backward point and to Ntini's dismay, this races away to the fence. Another superfast start for England
0.4
4
Ntini to Pietersen, FOUR, three in a row! KP on fire! Floaty half-volley with width, he throws his hands on the drive and smacks it through the covers. Went away like a rocket
0.3
4
Ntini to Pietersen, FOUR, what timing! KP is in some serious form. Slower ball outside off, stands tall to punch it just wide of mid-off who is slow to get across. No chance of chasing this down on the outfield
0.2
4
Ntini to Pietersen, FOUR, slapped over the infield! Shortish and wide, Pietersen doesn't waste any time in getting off the mark. Hammers the cut uppishly, but way over point
