Southern Brave vs Welsh Fire, 1st Match, The Hundred Mens Competition 2022 - HighlightsSOU vs WEF, 1st Match, The Hundred Mens Competition 2022 - Highlights
Craig Overton to Zampa, FOUR, lovely shot! Good length ball on off and middle, Zampa makes room and lofts through the line, presents a straight bat and sends it right back over the bowler. Mid-off and mid-on were inside the ring and had no chance of stopping that

Jordan to Noor Ahmad, SIX, whoa! Just a whip of the wrists and the ball sails over deep mid-wicket. Too straight from Jordan and Noor brings out those subcontinental wrists into play as he whips it all the way for a maximum

Jordan to Ryan Higgins, out Caught by J Fuller!! Higgins perishes while trying to hit one out of the park. Jordan picks up his second wicket and Welsh Fire are tottering. Short and into the wicket, Higgins pulls and connects alright, but it is the bigger side out there near deep backward square, Fuller settles under it and takes it comfortably. Ryan Higgins c J Fuller b Jordan 11(18)

Jordan to Duckett, out Caught by James Vince!! This is a big wicket for Southern Brave. Jordan comes back and sends a well-set Duckett on his way. The hard length and the extra bounce does Duckett in, he was crouching to pull it into the mid-wicket region but the extra lift meant the top-edge skied straight up, Vince runs around behind the bowler and takes the dolly. Duckett c James Vince b Jordan 40(31) [4s-5]

Lintott to Duckett, FOUR, he's starting to accelerate now. Once more gets under the delivery and nails the slog sweep in front of square, splits deep mid-wicket and long-on perfectly. Good set off balls for Welsh Fire

Lintott to Duckett, FOUR, second boundary off this set. This time Duckett connects cleanly with the sweep and smacks it over square leg, one bounce and over the ropes. Welsh Fire need plenty more of this

Lintott to Duckett, FOUR, much needed boundary. Drifting down leg, Duckett sits down and drags the sweep past short fine, enough for the ball to race away

J Fuller to Cobb, out Cobb Run Out!! Complete miscommunication and in the end Cobb is the one walking back. He mistimes the drive to the right of the bowler and sets off on a non-existing single, Duckett doesn't go straightaway but does so after Cobb was halfway down, Fuller collects and throws to the keeper, Alex Davies removes the bails but Duckett had dived in to make his ground, Davies then throws the ball to the bowler's end where Fuller slides across and lights up the stumps, Cobb also put in the dive but he was short of the crease. Bit comical for a neutral as Jordan was appealing to both umpires, not for Cobb and Welsh Fire. Cobb run out (Alex Davies/J Fuller) 5(6)

Rehan Ahmed to Duckett, 1 run, gets down low and sweeps to deep backward square leg

Lintott to Hain, out Caught by Alex Davies!! Lintott strikes with his second delivery. Second Welsh batter perishing to the reverse sweep. Flat ball on a length marginally outside off, Hain reverses his stance and tries to send it to third man. The ball brushes his glove and Alex Davies - the wicketkeeper - takes a safe catch. Hain c Alex Davies b Lintott 9(9) [4s-1]

Craig Overton to Ollie Pope, out Bowled!! Three down and Ollie Pope will be livid with himself. Shapes up to play a premeditated reverse-sweep and misses a very full ball altogether. The ball crashes into the base of the off-stump. Ollie Pope b Craig Overton 10(10) [4s-1]

Hogan to Tom Banton, out Caught by Whiteley!! In the air ... and ... taken! Both the openers gone. 80mph, dug in short, Tom Banton walks down the wicket to pull it away. Extra bounce and he gets a big top-edge. The ball goes a mile up in the air. Whiteley comes in from deep square leg, settles under the swirling ball and takes a low catch bending forward. Tom Banton c Whiteley b Hogan 6(8) [4s-1]

Craig Overton to Ollie Pope, FOUR, shot! Ollie Pope shimmies down the pitch, converts it into a half-volley and sweetly drives through extra cover. Confident shot to get off the mark

Craig Overton to Joe Clarke, out Caught by Stoinis!! Craig Overton strikes! Roar from the crowd and the bowler is pumped up. A soft dismissal. Pitched up outside off, a shuffling Joe Clarke chips it straight to the fielder at short cover. Stoinis doesn't err and Southern Brave are off to the perfect start. Joe Clarke c Stoinis b Craig Overton 0(4)
