Deepti Sharma surpassed former India teammate Jhulan Goswami's tally of 355 wickets to become the leading wicket-taker in Women's international cricket. The 28-year-old achieved the milestone with the wicket of Beth Mooney during India's final Group A game at the ongoing ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 on Sunday, June 28.

1 - Deepti is the only bowler with 150-plus wickets in both white-ball formats in Women's internationals (166 in ODIs and 168 in T20Is).

58 wickets for Deepti across formats in 2024 is the joint second-most for anyone in a calendar year in Women's internationals, alongside Ashleigh Gardner's 2023 numbers. Thailand's Thipatcha Putthawong's 64 in 2025 tops this list.

242 wickets for Deepti under Harmanpreet Kaur's captaincy is the second-most by a player under a captain in Women's internationals, after 267 for Sophie Ecclestone under Heather Knight. Deepti went past Jhulan Goswami's 241 under Mithali Raj on Sunday, while Cathryn Fitzpatrick's 207 under Belinda Clark is next in this list.

168 wickets for Deepti is the most for anyone in Women's T20Is, followed by 165 for Thailand's Thipatcha Putthawong. Among full-member teams, Sophie Ecclestone (152) and Megan Schutt (152) are the only others with 150-plus scalps, while Radha Yadav's 106 is the next-most for India Women in the format.

3 - Deepti Sharma is the only Indian bowler to have delivered three maidens in a Women's T20I, having achieved that feat against South Africa in Surat in 2019. Overall, there have been 38 instances of a bowler delivering three or more maidens in a Women's T20I; including three in which all four overs in a spell were maidens.

World Cup highs ft. victorious 2025

36 - Deepti is the second-highest wicket-taker for India in ODI World Cups, after 43 for Jhulan. Diana Edulji's 31 is third on this list.

22 - She bagged 22 wickets in India's victorious 2025 World Cup campaign, the joint second-most for anyone in a single edition. Jackie Lord also managed 22 for New Zealand in 1982, while Lyn Fullston (Australia) went one better in the same edition.

1 - Deepti also became the first to achieve a double of 200 runs and 20 wickets in a single ODI World Cup edition - Men's or Women's. She aggregated 215 runs with three 50-plus scores from seven innings in 2025.

58 & 5/39 - Deepti Sharma produced a stellar all-round show in the 2025 final against South Africa in Navi Mumbai. She became the only cricketer to score a fifty and bag five wickets in a World Cup knockout game - Men's or Women's. It also remains the only such instance for India Women in ODIs. She became the second Indian to achieve this double in the ODI World Cup - Men's or Women's - after Yuvraj Singh did that against Ireland in 2011.

Tests

5/7 - As for Tests, she has bagged 22 wickets in six matches, her 5/7 against England in Navi Mumbai in 2023 being the joint second-least expensive five-for in the format, alongside Betty Wilson's 7/7 and only behind Mary Duggan's 7/6 - both coming in the 1958 Melbourne Test.
