Sunrisers Leeds Women vs Welsh Fire Women

Sunrisers Leeds put on a ruthless display to knock Welsh Fire out of contention for a spot in the Women's Hundred Eliminator while boosting their own chances. Welsh Fire put on a shoddy display with the bat, crawling to 121/8 before Sunrisers breezed past the total effortlessly with Phoebe Litchfield setting up the chase with a quickfire fifty. The win has now setup a virtual quarterfinal for Sunrisers against Manchester Super Giants

The decision to bowl first for Sunrisers worked out well. Sarah Bryce was dismissed early and Deepti Sharma put an end to Georgia Voll's scatchy knock. Hannah Baker did some damage in the middle order before Deepti added to her tally. Freya Kemp put on a solo effor, smashing an unbeaten 72 off just 45 deliveries, as the rest of the batting order crumbled without much resistence. In total, seven batters were dismissed for single-digit scores and if not for Kemp's knock, Welsh Fire wouldn't have breached three figures in all likelihood.

In contrast, Sunrisers made a breezy start to their chase despite losing an early wicket. Litchfield got going with 4,6,4 off Grace Potts and carried that momentum forward. Despite Lauren Winfield-Hill's dismissal, Sunrisers continued to remain on top with Litchfield making merry enroute to her fifty. By the time she was sent packing, the contest was pretty much done and dusted as Sunrisers got over the finish line with 26 balls to spare.

London Spirit Women vs Birmingham Phoenix Women

Marizanne Kapp put on a six-fest in her unbeaten 57 as London Spirit inflicted another loss on bottom-placed Birmingham Phoenix in the Women's Hundred. Chasing 141, Phoenix could only muster 108/8, with Charlie Dean ripping through with figures of 3-17, and Nadine de Klerk giving her support with a couple of scalps.

Spirit were hit by an early setback when Grace Harris departed four balls in. Amy Jones took the lead thereafter, hitting six fours before Alana King made the ball turn, leading to a soft dismissal at cover. Marizanne Kapp eased in, making nine off the first ten balls. However, she changed gears towards the end of the innings, hitting a hat-trick of leg-side sixes of Alice Capsey's final set.

Kapp returned to strike early with the ball, ensuring that Phoenix did not get off to a quick start along with Hannah Rainey. Charlie Dean struck in her first set, sending back Ellyse Perry, which set off another silent phase. They continued to lose wickets regularly, and finally ended 32 runs short.
