That’s all from us for this game, but make sure to switch tabs right now as the blockbuster clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is up next!
Nigar Sultana | Bangladesh captain: I think we started really well with the bowling, I guess. Marufa delivered what we expect from her and alongside with all the spinners and the bowlers, we’ve been bowling really well. So what we have targeted about the first innings, we have got it and the way actually Juairiya played in the middle, she was enjoying herself and Dilara was helping her a lot. Bit of drama was there, but still I think Sharmin held her nerve and Shorna was there. They finished the game, so we are happy.
Babette de Leede | Netherlands captain: (Where was the game lost?) I think in all three aspects of the game, it wasn’t quite the fire we hoped for. With the bat, I think we were a few runs short. We never really got going. We lost a bit too many wickets on the way. I think in the field as well, Bangladesh got off to a flier. The fielding, we dropped a few catches in the innings. So I think a lot to learn, a lot to improve from a great experience overall. (Talks about the comeback after the explosive start from Bangladesh with the bat) That was outstanding. I think our spinners bowled really well in that phase. As you said, they brought us right back in the game. We were in the game until the very last over, so it could have gone either way really. So great job for our spinners.
Juairiya Ferdous | Player of the match: It's my first WC. First match today. Pitch was very flat and target was 140. Opening batters have to use the powerplay fully so I tried my best. I can't explain this feeling (of scoring a fifty). Big achievement for me and my team. All officials, all players, my captain, coaches have always supported me and believed in me.
The turnaround came through pure composure, ending a tense 29-ball boundary drought to shift the momentum back. Sharmin Akhter anchored one end brilliantly and found a perfect partner in Shorna Akter, with the duo putting up a crucial 50-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Despite a disciplined bowling effort from the Netherlands to push the game into the final over, they simply couldn't stop the Bangladesh from crossing the finish line. Stay back for the presentations.
13:46 Local Time, 12:46 GMT, 18:16 IST: What a historic chase for Bangladesh, but they certainly had to work hard to secure their highest run-chase. Juairiya Ferdous gave them a flying start, making the most of an early chance to smash a quick fifty. However, her dismissal the very next ball triggered a dramatic collapse. Caroline de Lange turned the game on its head with two wickets in consecutive deliveries to remove Ferdous and skipper Nigar Sultana, before Silver Siegers cleaned up Dilara Akter with a perfect leg-break. When Frederique Overdijk pulled off a brilliant run-out off her own bowling, Bangladesh found themselves four down and feeling the pressure of a rising run rate.

Shout for a caught behind, original decision is notout. UltraEdge comes up and there is no spike on the bat. Seems to have come off the pad. Not out it is.
