PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Two wins out of two and the Knight Riders are off to a flier this season. Some early issues for the Orcas, but they do have time to get over it. Change tabs and join us for the second match of the day. For now, cheers and bye..
Jason Holder | Los Angeles Knight Riders Captain: It's a pleasing feeling; starting the competition well is great. We just need to keep getting better and keep the momentum going. We knew that with a good powerplay, one or two wickets, we would be in the game. It was a pretty good wicket and it was easy to stem the flow of runs. Keep our heads down, stay focussed and get ready for the next game. The two boys have been quality. Shadley has shown how good he's been over the last two years, credit to him and I can actually rely on him. Carmi has come to us for the first time and has shown how good he can be with timely wickets, he has bowled the tough overs as well. Hopefully, I can be relient on them going forward in the tournament.
Shadley van Schalkwyk | MVP - It feels great. The group has come together nicely, we're playing for each other which is great. And obviously, the approach that came along, credit to the sipport staff, it's a huge step forward and I think the addition of Shane Watson has been great. It's been great, God has been kind and all the credit goes to him. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to play cricket, it's all about the team and they've been very good - they've taken the catches. Individual things matter, but it's a team game at the end of the day and that's what matters. The guys who came early set a high standard; sometimes this puts pressure on the following bowlers, but they have established an amazing standard for is to follow. This is all for my family, they've been so supportive.
Marcus Stoinis: Yeah, look, after the halfway mark, we had to re-calibrate a bit. I think we bowled well in stages—for the majority of the innings, probably It was just that every time we seemed to create a chance, they would wrestle back momentum. The way we let it go at the end was disappointing as well, so there will definitely be some clips for us to look over in the analysis room. But at the halfway point, we felt we could chase that total down. We've batted really well throughout the tournament so far. It just shows, though: if you lose early wickets and don't get the start you want—which happens in T20 cricket—you end up chasing the game. (How did you view their attack and the challenge of chasing those runs)? We thought the surface would require us to lower our expectations during the powerplay. You still obviously look to score, but losing wickets meant we weren't getting the platform we wanted. We were behind the eight ball for pretty much the whole game, obviously. It was always going to be tough to face their bowlers on that deck. They bowled exceptionally well. For us, it was just about trying to maintain consistency and change the momentum quickly, but we couldn't quite manage it. (How does the leadership group address the issues)? Look, I'm not too disappointed with everything, honestly. I think we've played really well in two out of our three games. Today was just an off-game with the bat, but I'm still really proud of the team's batting unit. Having posted two scores well above 200 earlier is a great sign for us. And with the ball, we've actually gotten better with each game. Going forward, it's just about putting both of those departments together in the exact same match.
18:57 Local Time, 23:57 GMT, 05:27 IST: An 81-run win for the Knight Riders, making it two out of two. The chase never really started for the Orcas - the in-form openers were dismissed cheaply and the middle-order failed to come to the party. A few starts, but none topped Harmeet Singh's 25, an innings that only took them past the 100-run mark. The Knight Riders used the conditions well and received strong fielding support - three wickets apiece for Andre Russell and van Schalkwyk while Sunil Narine was at his miserly best. Second loss in three games and have some head-scratching to do as the tournament moves across to California.

Russell to Harmeet Singh, out Caught by Rovman Powell!! Catching practice at long-off - was a slower ball outside off and Harmeet had to manufacture all the power on the lofted drive, backed away, got it low on the bat and it held up in the wind.
