PLAYER OF THE MATCH
PLAYER OF THE SERIES
That's all we have for you from here. We hope you've thoroughly enjoyed our coverage of what promised to be, and certainly was, an evenly matched contest between these two sides. Do join us next time as we bring you all the latest action. Until then, it's goodbye from all of us here.
Roston Chase | West Indies captain: (Tell us about what this series win means to you and your team?) It means a lot. I think this is by far my greatest achievement as a West Indies player. And having not won against Sri Lanka in 23 years, I think that was the driving force for this team to come out here and perform this brilliantly that we did. (What does that mean to you to put in that performance from a personal standpoint?) And that's the beauty about sports. You can fail for as long as possible and then just one day everything clicks and you find back where you have been before. So it's just a magnificent feeling to come and stand up for the team as a captain and not only try to inspire and motivate you guys, but to go out there and actually do the hard yards for the team. And I think that inspires the team as well and helps everyone to play and believe in each other. (How are you guys in terms of the trajectory?) Yeah, I'm very pleased about how the team is going because usually it's the bowlers that really do the hard work for the team. But I think that in this series the batsmen really stood out. We had four centuries and some big centuries too, not just centuries one-on-one and stuff like that, but some very big centuries. And that's what I've been asking the guys to do. I think that if we're going to compete as a test-playing nation, we need to be able to score runs and score runs consistently. And we are capable with the ball. So once we find our footing with the bat, the ball will come along as well. And I think that's what will make us into a top-playing test nation. (Pick out one most memorable moment for us?) Roach's 300th wicket, that was special just to see the guys elated and just jumping on his back. And he's just there in all his glory. I think that was my favorite part of this series. (How just it feel to be just as a player in the team as you go into that next series?) Playing for West Indies is always an honor and not just a privilege. So it's great to just play for West Indies, whether I'm the captain or just another player. It's always great. So we are just looking forward to going into this next series now.
Dhananjaya de Silva | Sri Lanka captain: (On his decision to bat first) The wicket was drier than the last one. Fourth innings was also in my mind. So, I think it was a good decision to bat first. (On Lahiru Udara) He didn't play the first match and he was hungry to get some runs, get back into that XI. And I think, he proved that he belongs to that XI. (On the possibility of forcing a result today) It (surface) hasn't turned that much. And we didn't have a pacer who can bowl 140-145. But I thought the runs were enough. But the bowling, we go back home and re-evaluate it. (On the learnings from this series) Obviously, how to take the 20 wickets to win a game. And that's the only thing in my mind when I play the Test cricket. For that, I think we have to have that, as I said earlier, the X-factor that who can take wickets at any time.
Justin Greaves | Player of the match and series: I think we did some really, really good work leading up to this, before the series. The coaches put in some really good work. Had a really good challenge from the bowling group as well. So once we got into the game, put my head down and see if I could stick it out as long as possible. (On his remarkable 50-to-100 conversion rate) It's very, very simple. Kemar Roach. Simple words in the dressing room, stay hungry! You know, when you're getting, you're staying, because you don't know where the next run is going to come from. So, always try to capitalize once you get a start in the middle. (On playing in Antigua) It's always a nice place, man. Nice batting pitch here at Sabina. So, once you get in, try to capitalize. (On shifting his focus from red-ball to white-ball cricket) Pretty much stick to the basics for me. Be very disciplined in terms of what I do. A couple days off, get some prepping and then to the white ball. But pretty much the same for me all the time.
This is West Indies' first Test series win in three years and five months, and their first over Sri Lanka in 23 years.
17:06 Local Time, 21:06 GMT, 02:36 IST: That's it, we are done for the day! As soon as a draw was formally agreed upon, both teams decided to call it a wrap. With that, the West Indies have sealed the series 1-0, a truly historic triumph for them after many long years!

Handshakes are being exchanged all around, and the West Indies should feel incredibly proud of the way they have performed over the last fortnight. The players are absolutely upbeat, having achieved an incredible feat. Chasing a massive total on the final day was never really on the cards for the hosts, but they showed immense discipline, clinging on without losing a single wicket.

It has been a remarkable tour for them. They lost the rain-affected ODI series 1-0, but came back strongly to clinch the T20Is 2-1, and now they have fought tooth and nail to secure the Test series 1-0. They were resilient throughout, and the openers showed everyone exactly how it's done today. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation...
