Chris Green (2/2): (What sort of, I suppose, impact this has on the team moving forward?) Yeah, it's important. You know, coming in late last year to a group that had lost a few tight ones, winning a tight one, even though we were ahead of the game for most of it, is important for confidence. And they say you learn a lot when you lose games, but when games go down to the wire and you manage to find a way over the edge, you learn a lot from that as well. So we'll take a lot of confidence from that. I thought we were outstanding with the bat and the first 10 overs with the ball we were really good. And then it's just about limiting the damage because a lot of teams have the power like these guys. So we'll learn a lot from that, particularly in the second half of that bowling innings. (How good was Daniel Sams tonight?) Outstanding. His skill set, his clarity at the top of the mark. He had a great tournament last year. And for someone to come back their second year, it's always a big thing to watch because guys have seen a lot of him and the way he stood up tonight when it counted was outstanding. So he was a lovely weapon for me to use at crucial stages and to come with the way with his figures 4 for 20 when the ball's traveling and he bowled some of the hardest overs to the dangerous players. So I was very lucky for me to have him.

Chris Green (1/2): (Talk to us about the range of emotions that you guys experienced there?) It was a roller coaster. What a game of cricket. I think there's two of the most powerful hitters there in the world in Rovman Powell and Andre Russell. They're some of the best in the business for a reason. And even when you think you're ahead of the game or you might be sneaking close to home, they just hit their way out of it. And Vitel Lawes is hitting as well, hitting two of the best spinners sometimes. You just got to tip the cap and say we're entertaining, and we entertained the crowd tonight. So happy we snuck away with that one in the end. (Have you ever witnessed something like that?) Well, that's the Caribbean for you. That is, it's serious power. You know, it's not so much about singles and dots, particularly when the wickets here are good like that. That wicket sort of slid on. I got excited a couple of times at the spin, but it seemed to slide on and get nicer and nicer. So, like I said, there's some serious power. And fielding on the boundary, it sounded like we entertained a lot of people here tonight as well.

Rovman Powell: (Deconstruct this game for us) I think we wanted to start a little bit better as a bowling group. You know, bowling been a little bit struggling, not stringing consistently good overs together. And also if you're three or four down in the power play, you generally go on to lose the game. But having said that, I think Russell played extremely well and young Vitel Lawes, Keacy Carty also. (Once Russell was there, there must have been belief?) Yeah, yeah, definitely. We thought that if it was our game, after the game swung so much, when it came down to the last two or so overs, we thought as if we were going to win. But having said that, credit have to be given to Barbados. I think tonight they were the better team overall. (What can you put your finger on that you need to do better moving forward?) I think there is work needed to be done in all three departments. From a batting standpoint, from a bowling standpoint and from a fielding standpoint. Tonight we lose wickets in clusters. Every time somebody get out, another wicket follow. You know, in T20 cricket, no matter who you have in your lineup, once you keep on losing wickets in clusters, you're generally going to find yourself in trouble. But having said that, I think it's encouraging, encouraging for the fans also. We have played two nail-biting games. It's just for us to get on the other side of one of these games. (What have you learned so far from your team?) That it's not done until it's done, until the last ball. We have a lot of match winners, you know, at some point in the game. I'm sure a lot of people think we were down and out, but the guys show courage, they show fight, and that's all I ask of them.

Daniel Sams: (What worked for you on this surface tonight?) Well, it was one of those nights. First ball, took a wicket. It wasn't really what I was trying to bowl, to be honest. Yeah, in the end, we spoke about in the halfway, Rutherford talked about the slow balls, hard into the wicket, and were quite hard. And then top of the stumps for the seamers. So that's kind of my blueprint generally. So I just kind of tried to go with that. Obviously, when you're bowling to guys like Dre Russ when he's going, things change and the ball's flying around. So you just try to adapt. (Tell us the range of emotions that you guys experienced as that game came down to the wire?) Oh, the whole game was just up and down, wasn't it? Absolute roller coaster. It's what I come to expect with CPL. I think one of the things that we did really well, even though, I mean, we started really good with the ball, and obviously they got some momentum. Rovman batted really well, and then Dre came in and did what he does, what he's known for. So we stayed really, really calm, even though the ball was flying around. We knew that Dre was going to smack it at times, and hopefully we could get it right and he hit one straight up. Eventually, two dropped catches off Dre nearly cost us tonight, so that's something we can probably clean up. But, I mean, the way Simmonds stepped up, even though he had a tough night tonight, he stepped up last over and got the job done for us. (What does this win, first game this season, mean to you guys?) First game getting a win, it just starts your tournament off the way that you talk about when you have a preseason camp. It just gets the ball rolling, builds some momentum for us. So, excited to go to St. Lucia for our next game.

22:44 Local Time, 03:44 GMT, 09:14 IST: Barbados Tridents keep their cool under pressure in the final over to seal a thrilling 5-run victory. It went right down to the wire, but the Tridents held their nerve when it mattered most to get over the line. Earlier in the day, Barbados Tridents posted a commanding total of 200-plus, thanks to valuable contributions from Brandon King, Quinton de Kock and Sherfane Rutherford. Jamaica Kingsmen’s chase got off to a nightmare start as they quickly lost both openers and Kirk McKenzie. Daniel Sams was the chief destroyer early on, leaving Jamaica in serious trouble. Rovman Powell then sparked hopes of a comeback, taking Motie for three sixes in one over. However, Motie had the last laugh, dismissing Powell in the same over. His aggressive knock nevertheless gave Jamaica renewed belief. Carty and Andre Russell then launched a thrilling counterattack, putting together a crucial partnership of 72 runs. Jamaica suffered another couple of quick setbacks, but Russell and Lawes refused to give up. The pair kept attacking the bowlers and took the contest deep, bringing up their 50-run partnership in the 19th over. Jamaica needed 15 runs in the final over, but Russell got out at the wrong time, with them only needing 6 runs in 3 balls. Simmonds kept his cool under pressure and got his team home eventually.
