Get it done, be ruthless. We spoke about that beforehand, and it's nice to get it done today. [On the bowling performance] Definitely, especially after the back end of the powerplay, I thought they (Birmingham Phoenix) attacked that really well, put us under a lot of pressure, but for us to bounce back in the manner that we did, keep taking wickets, create things in the field, take the chances when they came along, and we know with it being one of the smaller grounds, faster grounds, that there was gonna be overs where they put us under pressure, and it was how we bounced back from that, and I thought we did that brilliantly today. [On Welsh Fire's squad] We've got a lot of depth in different areas and a lot of bases covered, good variety in our attack, good understanding of how we wanna chase down totals. If we can find a way of making Cardiff a very difficult place for them to play in particular, then it'll go a long way into us getting through to the back end of the tournament.
17:15 Local Time, 16:15 GMT, 21:45 IST: It got a bit tight, but it's fair to say that the Welsh Fire always had this chase under control. Birmingham Phoenix will reflect on a few things: first, they failed to cash in on a good start, some outstanding catching and some dreadful running not helping their cause and then secondly, the no-ball which cost them the wicket of Phil Salt in the first set of the chase. The bowlers were disciplined, but there was no scorecard pressure on the Fire batters. Salt wasn't at his best, but he still made a 36-ball 46; however, Joe Root led the chase with aplomb. These are the types of chases made for him and the opener remained unbeaten on a 40-ball 58 as the Fire completed a 7-wicket win.
