PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Australia and India, both dominating their respective matches today at Headingley. Australia hammered Bangladesh with more than 10 overs to spare, while India have registered a massive 95-run win over Netherlands. They're currently separated on the table by just 0.01 NRR points, with India marginally ahead. The attention now shifts to the third match of this triple-header where both South Africa and Pakistan are in desperate need of a win. Do join us there. Goodbye!
Harmanpreet Kaur | India captain: We were really good with the bat. Wasn't that easy a wicket. The way Smriti and Shafali batted, gave us a really good platform. Credit to them. She's someone who's really keen to bowl. Always ready whenever the team needs. Hopefully she'll become a great allrounder in the future. Right now I don't have a clear update (on Shreyanka). We're in a very good situation. Whatever we wanted to achieve in these two games, we've done that. Kranti is someone who is always bowling for us. Nandni has got very good experience from WPL. She's using her experience here and good to see her getting breakthroughs in the powerplay.
Babette de Leede | Netherlands captain: (On India’s batting performance and the effort in the field) I think India batted really well, especially up front. I think we had a great comeback with the ball because I think they were around 100 after 10 overs and only scored 210 in the end. I think on this flat wicket, we had a chance. We didn’t quite get it right. (On dropped catches and fielding standards) Yeah, I think our fielding can be a little bit better, especially the catching, as you said. I think also the bowling — we bowled quite a lot of extras. So those are all controllables which we can work on and improve for the next game. (On de Lange's bowling performance) Yeah, definitely. She had some great breakthroughs in the first game as well, so it’s really pleasing to see that. (On the run-chase) I think we never really got going. We lost too many wickets along the way again, just like in our first game. I think India bowled very well and very smart. They played clever cricket, which we can learn a lot from, so it’s a great learning for us. (On facing India for the first time in Women’s T20 Internationals) I think it’s very special to play against India, as you said, a top team in the world, with our friends and family here in the stands. I think it’s super special and it’s something I'll always remember.

Smriti Mandhana | Player of the Match:(On scoring a second consecutive half-century and the batting conditions) I think it was a good batting wicket for sure. I mean, whenever we have come to Leeds, I’ve played a few matches here in the Hundred, but it’s always been a good batting wicket and a quick outfield. And again, I mean, Netherlands did a really good job today. (On preparing to face a team India had never played before at this level) Well, of course, it’s like unknown territory for all of us. We’ve not seen a lot of them. So we had to go through a lot of videos in terms of how they bowl and how we willl be approaching the game. And one thing we always pride ourselves on is that we don’t take any team differently because it’s their first time or anything. I just thought they put up a really good fight. They fielded really well, and for us it was just about focusing and doing the job for the team. (On her own form and preparation for the tougher matches ahead) Yeah, again, I wouldn’t say I was middling the ball the way I would still like to. I’m still a work in progress. But really happy with the way Shafali batted today. We had a good partnership and it was good to have her back among the runs. And again, I mean, Shree Charani bowled extremely well. So for me, it’s just about doing the right things, waking up every day, doing the right things, and then seeing how the match goes.
17:51 Local Time, 16:51 GMT, 22:21 IST: The Indian players celebrate as a group before making their way off for handshakes. Really solid outing for them today after being put into bat. They racked up their highest total in a T20 World Cup and followed it up with another clinical performance with the ball. The only real blip was the injury to Shreyanka Patil who had to be stretchered off the field after twisting her ankle. But otherwise a very comprehensive performance - one which has taken them to the top of Group A. Netherlands did show some sparks here and there but couldn't sustain it over longer periods. Not easy for them playing just their first World Cup against such a well-drilled unit.

Shafali Verma to Isabel Woning, out Caught by Jemimah Rodrigues!! It's all over. Tossed up, Woning miscues it in the air off the toe-end and Jemimah covers good ground at long-on before taking it on the move. Wasn't a straightforward catch but she is a really good fielder. India win by a big margin and go two in two. Isabel Woning c Jemimah Rodrigues b Shafali Verma 0(2)
