MINY have snatched a win from the jaws of defeat and the Orcas have done the exact opposite. How costly these two points would be for the latter? The two teams have swapped places on the points table as well. MINY now are second on the table and have done themselves a massive favour with this win. The Orcas would need a win in their last game. The permutations and combinations of the qualification scenarios for every team would make the weekend here at the MLC very interesting. On that note, we will take a leave! But switch tabs and enjoy the second game of the day.
Nicholas Pooran: We are a very optimistic team. We do defend low totals. We always back our players to get the job done. For us as a group, we understand the conditions here. T20 cricket is never over! We got a little lucky as well. But the West Indian combo of Shepherd and Polly were magnificent for us. There were some pressure moments but wonderful how we came home there. He had a little niggle but he has to take care of that. Almost 15000 runs in T20s. According to me, he is one of the greatest batters to have played at number 5 or number 6 in this format. He got us to a respectable total and built that partnership with Tajinder. All in all wonderful two points for us.
Tajinder Dhillon: First of all I would like to thank the team management. Last night, I talked to Polly and it worked. The wicket was a little bit slow. When I went in, Polly was there. He told me to play 4-5 overs. He is a legend of the game and it worked. I want to dedicate this to my brother who passed away in January, he was my first coach.
Marcus Stoinis | Seattle Orcas Captain - I thought we were in the game right through, were in the box seat when Seifert and Breetzke were batting. But it just shows how this game changes. I don't think we bowled smart enough towards the end, we didn't take responsibility with the bat or whatever it was. It's pretty disappointing. Sheppy bowled two good overs really well, which changed the game. Two overs bowling into the short end and against the wind. It was a mixture of good bowling and poor batting. Just win tomorrow and we're through.
19:09 Local Time, 00:09 GMT, 05:39 IST: Only 43 was needed off the last 5 overs. But then Pollard came into the attack and removed the set Breetzke. Post that the Orcas failed to get the ball out of the square as the ball started to tail in. The Orcas side only managed one boundary in the last 5 overs and that has proved detrimental for them. The ball reversed a little but this was a poor chase towards the end from the Orcas side. The Seattle unit let it slip with the ball in the death overs with the ball as well as the bat. They will find this tough to swallow. But credit to Shepherd who bowled two overs at the death and gave away only 4 runs. The heist has ended and MINY will be elated as they jump to 10 points with one league game to go.

Romario Shepherd to Tim Seifert, out Caught by Ryan Rickelton!! Fuller ball, shaped in, Tim Seifert tried to launch it. But only got a feather to the keeper. That was in the slot it seemed but was too full to get under it. The onfield umpire didn't pick it. They reviewed it immediately and have managed to get the wicket. Tim Seifert c Ryan Rickelton b Romario Shepherd 88(61) [4s-5 6s-5]
Romario Shepherd to Tim Seifert, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
Review taken. That was fuller, angled in, Tim Seifert tried to heave it but failed to hit it clean. There is a murmur as the ball passes the bat. The set batter is gone and so are the hopes as well. What a turnaround! Romario Shepherd has bowled a superb spell.
