PLAYER OF THE SERIES
The trophy is presented and Zimbabwe mill around for the group photos. The one-off Test ticked, the ODI series ticked. Can Zimbabwe make it three out of three by winning the T20I series? They'll be confident after a good showing in the recently concluded 2026 T20 World Cup, but so will be Bangladesh who've been good in white-ball cricket recently. We'll be back on the 15th for the first match as the series moves down south to Bulawayo. For now, cheers and bye..
Richard Ngarava | Zimbabwe Captain - (On winning series as a new captain) It's quite important to start at a high note, and I'm really quite happy about how we went about these two series. And, of course, the group is quite happy about it, which is pretty good. (On the performances) It's quite special because you sort of like get used to sort of the names which are always coming up with, so it's quite nice to have quite a few youngsters here pulling in and ensuring the team gets home. And it's always a good feeling, and hopefully our work will continue for a long time. (Were his team 100% in terms of planning) We haven't really managed to achieve some of the goals in the blueprint, and I don't think we got any closer to the blueprint. But, you know, winning despite that is always quite nice, and it tells how guys are positive in the dressing room. If you find, clearly, today's game where you managed to cover two departments, which is always a plus, but if you're able to cover all three departments on any day, you're winning a cricket game. So it's not really all about what we look at. But on the day, if anything happens, We're humans and we're really not going to be at 100% every day. But it's really nice to be coming out of this series the way we are, and it would have been nice to finish on a high. But, of course, here we are. (On Brad Evans's improved batting) I'll commend the support staff - I mean, Digger (Dion Ebrahim) and Stuie (Struart Matsikenyeri) are always getting around. They're always getting around from the dock and the masseuse player off their shoulders just to make sure Brad (Evans) is keeping up with plenty of balls. And I'm quite happy that it's coming off nicely.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz | Bangladesh Captain - The boys played really well. (On the series) Taskin and Shoriful bowled well and took responsibility. In the last two matches, things can happen, but we could only be better. (On the conditions) It was a tricky wicket that favored the bowlers. Our fast bowlers bowled really well, took responsibility and took wickets. All the three of them were very good. (On the opening partnership today) It was a great partnership. We discussed the first 10 overs, we said we'll not lose any wickets - the way Tamim and Soumya played was impressive. (On the key learnings) These were new conditions for us on a new ground and we learnt a lot. Moving forward, we will look to play according to the conditions.
Brad Evans | PoTS - (On today's match) Obviously a tough one to swallow. We turned up wanting to go 3-0. Didn't happen. So, yes, it's a bit disappointing and obviously, you know, a bit of a damp squib for the crowd that came on on a Saturday. But we did try our best and we just, really weren't in the race, you know, they played really well. (On his all-round skills) Definitely I've worked hard with the support staff and they've really been helping me a lot. They worked closely with me on the ground. I can say a work in progress and I'm really happy to be seeing some rewards because been fighting a lot of demons up until this point. (On Dion Ebrahim's role) It's funny, you say that because I actually had a conversation with him before the second game, before I scored that 50. I said, "I'm very low on confidence". I don't really know what's in with the bat. And he just sort of offered guidance to make me focus more, just focus on the process, and just watch the ball pretty much. (On the upcoming T20Is) Obviously another series, another opportunity to take the series. And we're feeling good, we're feeling confident. And obviously coming off the back of a successful World Cup for us, we back ourselves to put in some good performances.
Tanzid Hasan Tamim | PoTM - I'm happy , the wicket looked good. I wanted to play as much as possible. There was a bit more bounce in the first two ODIs, it was even today. They bowled well, we just needed big partnerships, watch the ball and play according to its merit. This win gives us confidence for the T20 series.
16:27 Local Time, 14:27 GMT, 19:57 IST: A consolation win for Bangladesh, but Zimbabwe took the series by a 2-1 margin. Having secured the series, Zimbabwe rested all their pace bowlers and eventually couldn't defend 199. The opening pair of Tanzid and Soumya Sarkar did the damage, adding 151 for the first wicket and ensuring the home nation didn't have a chance. The hosts didn't help themselves with a series of missed chances, and their bowling lacked the bite it had in the first two games. Tanzid was clearly intent on making a hundred, but he tell attempting to do so and Bangladesh eventuallyu dragged themselves past the winning line. Zimbabwe wil be disappointed at having not completed a whitewash, but they'll take several positives from this series going ahead.
