PLAYER OF THE MATCH
That's the end of the Pomona leg of this season's MLC and we all head to Dallas for the last set of league games. 8 games are coming up, with four teams fighting for slots in the playoffs. All to play for then. We'll be back on Wednesday after a 2-day gap to cover each and every ball. For now, cheers and bye..
Matthew Short | San Francisco Unicorns Captain | MVP - (On his bowling) I mean, looking at the stats and all the data that's gone into it, I think a lot of the damage has been done by the quicks, and that's probably leading into this game, I think that's the way we're leading, I think there were just a few match-ups there for me, and lucky being the captain, you can throw yourself the ball, and it worked out today. (On the win) Any win's big. I think that, as you said, the competition's really tight. So any win will fluctuate the table. We've seen that with every win we've had. It's nice to be sitting on top, but, you know, come Dallas now, that's gonna change again, and, you know, who knows? So win's good. (On their batting) There's a lot of talk around the wicket and, you know, being a little bit up and down, but I think, especially our top-order, if we're playing our natural game and being aggressive and not worrying about the wicket too much, I think that'll put us in good stead. So I think we did that. We hit the loose balls, and we were unlucky with a few of those dismissals. But Sanjay (Krishnamoorthi) just showed his class and why such, you know, he's rated as one of our better players. You know, we can rely on him whenever he comes through the middlen and he did a great job for us today, important for him to get a few runs.
Nicholas Pooran | MINY captain: [On MI New York's batting effort] It was definitely challenging. I think they bowled really well. The ball was doing a bit and turning a little. We tried to stick it out, but it was really, really challenging. We managed to get to something that at least kept us in the game. [On the change in conditions during the chase] It was really unfortunate. It felt like, at night, the ball was skidding on a bit more and it was a bit easier to bat, which is something we expected. [On taking three early wickets but not being able to finish the job] I don't like to make excuses. As you saw last night.. but credit to the boys. They came out with a lot of energy. Faisal and Tristan came out bowling quickly and gave us something to stay in the game. It's a really tough sport sometimes. [On the importance of the upcoming games] The next week is going to be really important, with the final three games in Dallas. This week was really important for us and we're leaving LA with two wins from three games. As a captain, we're really happy and we'll continue to build. Our batting has been improving, we'll keep fighting, and I believe the best is yet to come.
22:03 Local Time, 05:03 GMT, 10:33 IST: A convincing win in the end and the Unicorns are back on top of the table. This points table is flipping constantly, setting up a grand league finish when the MLC moves back to Dallas for the final set of games. 104 wasn't going to be challenging, but the team from New York gave themselves a chance by striking twice inside the powerplay and immediately after it. By then, however, the Unicorns had knocked off half of the target and all that was needed were some cool heads with the bat. Sanjay Krishnamurthi did exactly that, remaining unbeaten on a 45-ball 48. MINY's bowling was spot-on, but they had only 104 to defend, so they were always going to struggle. Back shortly for the presentations..

Tajinder Dhillon to Hassan Khan, wide, out Stumped!! Sharp work from Quinton de Kock to break the stumps, but has Hassan overbalanced? He did drag himself out of the crease, but quickly slid it back. But was his feet in the aur when the wickets were broken? This looks very close and the third umpire says that the foot was in the air when the bails were broken - a wide, but it's OUT as well. Tajinder darted one quicker and down leg, but this wicket must go to the credit of the keeper. Hassan Khan st Quinton de Kock b Tajinder Dhillon 11(24)
