Points Summary

Format
- ✦A total of 74 matches with each franchise playing 14 games in a home and away fashion (7 games each)
- ✦Teams are grouped in a set of seven each according to previous performances and rankings
- ✦With the total number of matches being capped at 74, all teams don't play each other twice
- ✦A team plays 5 of its opponents twice while they face the remaining 4 opponents once in every cycle
- ✦A team can play its home matches at one designated venue or multiple venues
Impact player rule
- ✦Each team is allowed to use a designated impact player at any stage of the game
- ✦The impact player should be amongst the 5 players named in the playing sheet
- ✦The named impact player usually replaces another player who has already batted / bowled
- ✦Impact players are also used in terms of tactics / collapses (batting / bowling)
- ✦The player who has been replaced will play no further role in the match
- ✦In case of an overseas impact player, the said player can only feature if the team has announced 3 or less overseas players in their first XI
Overseas players
- ✦A maximum of 8 overseas players can be bought during the auctions
- ✦A maximum of 4 overseas players can feature in a match
- ✦In the event of an impact sub, an overseas player can be used only if 3 or less players have beeen named in the original playing XI
- ✦At no time, more than 4 overseas players can be on the field (including substitutes)
Tie and Super Over
- ✦The match is declared as a tie in the case of both teams finishing with the same score at the end of the match
- ✦The result of the match is then determined through a super over
- ✦The team that batted second during the regulation time will get to bat first
- ✦Both teams nominate three batters each and a bowler for the super over
- ✦The innings is considered closed after one over / in the event of the batting team losing two wickets
- ✦In the case of scores being level, the two teams get to play another super over with the playing conditions reversed
- ✦The dismissed batters of the previous super over and the bowler used cannot be repeated under any conditions
- ✦The super overs continue until a result is obtained / the match goes past the scheduled close
- ✦In the case of time elapsement, the match ends in a tie and both teams get 1 point each
Net run-rate rules
- ✦In the event of two or more teams having the same number of points at the end of the league phase
- ✦a) The first differentiator is the number of wins
- ✦b) In case of equal number of wins, the NRR comes into play and the team with a better NRR is placed higher
- ✦c) In the case of an equal NRR, the team with the better bowling strike-rate will get a higher placing
- ✦d) In case of a tie, the positions are decided on a random draw
